Lorgar was on Ullanor, so they meet there. And Lorgar never actually stopped believing in his father’s divinity but came to believe him an unworthy god. He sought Gods, who valued worship and thereby valued him. As a Black Legion champion laughed, when he learned about the Imperial Church; “The Word Bearers Won! They lost everything and yet they still Won!”

Or in another video months ago, I speculated a "what if" Lorgar orchestrated everything to make the Emporer a god. Lorgar was the first to fall to chaos and caused the fall of a primary or two directly and indirectly through the word bearers being spread through Horus's fleet. Only problem is this would make Lorgar an Alpharius level mastermind and would make him loyalist... In his own way. (I am aware that Lorgar has remarked on the worship of the Emporer, but remember all stories are canon but not all are true. The story I am referencing was from the point of someone in the room with Lorgar.) So in this theory his reaction is smug satisfaction.

A good storyline (imho) for GW to do would be a Word Bearers civil war between those who want to follow chaos and those who now feel they were vindicated in believing the big E was a god and who now want to rejoin the imperium! Lorgar could remain neutral as he can’t decide if he was right before or right now!

It would be pretty epic for Lorgar to meet Big E as a god. At first I think Lorgar would feel vindicated, but then he'd be terrified, because I have no doubt that Lorgar would then be shown that the only reason the Emperor reached ascension was because of the work that Lorgar instilled in the Imperium. So as opposed to the idea that Lorgar and the Word Bearers "won," they may have ultimately sewn the seeds for another major enemy to Chaos that unlike the Necrons can actually directly combat the ruinous powers within the warp. I don't think the Emperor ever actually had a plan for Ascension, because he literally explains his plans for sheparding the future generations of Mankind as they matured into a truly psychic race from his position at the head of the Imperium, as well as his attempt to rebuild the webway in an attempt to try and reduce the influence of the Warp on Mankind as it matured.

But here is the thing, the Emperor wasn't divine, Lorgar made him that way. It's basically confirmation bias taken to level 1000. Next to that, Lorgar was the only primarch who willingly chose to betray the Imperium. All of his other brothers needed to be persuaded. Lorgar never cared for anything but "might makes rights".

I assume He did view it as the contingency option if all His other plans were to fail - but it's also pretty obvious why He categorized it as the ultimate backup plan. Not only would it require Him, and by extension, humanity, to suffer thousands of years of agony, pain and loss, but it would also irrevocably alter Him as an individual, and chain humanity to Him for all eternity. From the point of His true ascension to the heat death of the universe, and likely beyond, humanity would be His servants, shackled to Him and serving Him however he sees fit.

In Fury of Magnus, there's an allusion to the folk story The Nightingale, which is the story of a Nightingale who returns to the Emperor who banished him from his court to save him from death with his song. In all the lore, the only person who describes Warp-craft as a song is Lorgar. Just saying...

The Emperor is absolutely a deity. The other perpetuals spoke at length about how he was far above even their entire might combined; people in canon have prayed to the Emperor and he has answered in full and instantly; in meditation, he was able to repel all four Chaos deities with ease; when Horus was fully ascended and had all four deities with him, he attempted to meet with the Emperor psychically - all four deities described feeling terror and fear in the Emperor's presence and withdrew from Horus' side. When Guilliman returned to Terra in the 41st millennium, he felt the Emperor as a being of pure light. Demon primarchs weren't able to even set foot on Terra without being instantly obliterated if he didn't let them. He can see the souls of every single human in the galaxy. He only wanted there to be no worship not because he isn't a divine being, but because he knew worship can be perverted and corrupted, and it gives the powers of Chaos access to reality. The Emperor's plan was to secure the webway and close all warp portals permanently so Chaos could never enter realspace again. He almost succeeded, but the civil war was also within his plans. Horus didn't fight and mortally wound the Emperor with his own power; the Emperor allowed the fight to go on hoping he could turn Horus back. When he saw there was no hope for him, but also that Horus felt trapped, he literally disintegrated him from all of existence, including the Warp. It is not possible for the Chaos gods to bring Horus back, because the Emperor's work is more powerful than theirs combined and can't be reversed. When people do Sigmar vs. Emperor comparison and battle theories, Sigmar is NOTHING compared to the Emperor. Sigmar is like a Thor level being, while the Emperor is a One Above All level being.

I wouldnt say "never" to a traitor Primarch redemption in the upcoming years. Just a while ago people were saying that we will "never" get a Primarch to return in the first place... How did that end up?

@@Lornext Of course they can do whatever they want. It is their IP. But if it starts violating their own canon or worse, MAKES NO SENSE, then you cannot do everything you want. Internal rules and consistencies is what draws people to the game. People love lore and lore videos because they want to know how things works. If ANYTHING however can happen, like what's happening to Star Wars know which has sentient rocks, then fans will tap out. And one of the most consistent things in horror and sci-fi in general has been that once you make a deal with the devil and sign away your soul you cannot go back to the light. And if you try and do you usually die. So there, it is written you cannot unbecome a daemon primarch. It's in the tropes. Mess with them at your own peril. I reckon that as it stands only two traitor primarchs have a chance of coming back to the light. Fulgrim, through his clone. Which I hope will happen as it would be sheer awesome sauce to see loyal clone Fulgrim go up against traitor original Fulgrim and rip him a new asshole. And Magnus, as his soul got shattered. So parts of him are untouched by Chaos.

Great video @Wolf Lord Rho! This is some real interesting material. My parody mind thinks Lorgar will be stunned by his father being a god, have a lucid moment, get angry, and then get summarily kebabed by Corvus. Being a loyalist I still want Corvus to kill him lol. I am biased for sure. ADB made Lorgar a very interesting and complex character in the Horus Heresy series which is why I hope he gets to be the one to write books involving Lorgar's return to the current Imperium. We will have to wait and see but I am intrigued by what Lorgar's return could portend for 40k. I wonder what he will make of the Imperial Saints...

A way for traitor redemptions to happen: the lion being simultaneously both traitor and loyal, splitting into 2 beings (because warp magic nonsense), and some traitor doing something similar like a shard of Magnus manifesting as a loyalist, or Omegon being revealed to still be alive and loyal but renegade, mortarion's soul being returned to the emporer but his body remaining in Nurgle's clutches, or Lorgar becoming a wild card third faction worshiping the emporer AND the chaos gods as a unified pantheon but opposing both sides, promoting a balance between the 2 sides. In this way, the balance is maintained and neither the imperium or chaos gain an advantage, but the stakes are raised and the intensity ramped up

Remember Logar's chastening was over two things #1 which you touched on was the Godhood thing contrary to the Imperial truth but #2 was Having the second Biggest Legion and too few compliances the 13th Legion and Guilliman was selected as something the 17th Legion and Logar should aspire too. I often wonder if Logar had met the Emperors compliance expectations , Would the entire confrontation had happened to the extent that it did . As any side track from the web way project would delay the united humanity the Imperial truth was the Emperor's war against the warp a longer effort and the fact Logar was delaying both objectives made it as harsh as it was . So if he only hindered one and not both because basically its squandering resource's and working contrary to his will.

Im kinda curious, what is going to happen to the emperor's body? Isn't he a perpetual so shouldn't his body regenerate? I figured that's one of the reasons why chaos wanted it so badly. And is the star father the emperor? Or just a new chaos god based on humanity's zealotry? Will he really care about humanity or is his motives no different than the others especially seeing his manifestation was almost exactly like sleneesh's. I unfortunately haven't read the books yet but i have to wonder based on the vids you guys have made.

I don't see Lorgar ever redeeming himself but instead would try to tear the Imperium down by tricking the Ecclesiarchy to declare Guilliman as a heretic and starting a new civil war. Someone did a fascinating video about this possible scenario and I think once Lorgar revealed himself as his ego would demand he would then be confronted by the primarch that has waited over 10,000 years for vengeance and that would be the Raven. Corax probably wouldn't stay as he would either chase Lorgar if he didn't kill him.
