Braw Rasul bruh.. you clearly haven’t been in a healthy relationship if you have that skewed of a view of women...
@catherinelynch52394 жыл бұрын
Braw Rasul I never said there aren’t double standards used in our society. However if you only view women as the evil than clearly you’re just being ignorant. You’re also not accounting for the inbalance of power in other countries where women are still oppressed. There are inequalities in the US with pay and sexism within the workplace. The issue that you seem to bring up with judging women on their weight and how it’s not acceptable is that women have been controlled and told by society how they HAVE to look for centuries or else they’re “undesirable” to men and therefore “not fulfilling their duty as a women.” Most domestic abuse cases between a man and a women go unreported in case you didn’t know and the men are the abusers in these cases. The women stay with them because of the children. If they have no job experience how are they then supposed to find a house? A job? And feed their children? Not to mention that abusers like that come to find them which is why there are so many murder cases against women whose husbands have been abusive for years. In terms of divorce, speaking from someone who works in the law field, I can tell you that courts don’t give a single shit about your personal problems. When you enter into a marriage you’re splitting everything between the two of you (unless there is a pre-nup agreement). They don’t care who ended the relationship. Most of the time women get half of the assets if they’re stay at home moms because the courts view that as an agreement between the two parties that that is the wife’s agreed upon job to stay with the children and considering in most cases the custody is aaarded of the children to the mother than yes it makes sense for her to get fifty fifty of the assets after all she was raising the children of the household. I think you also need to view the world from a women’s standpoint and think about it for a minute with an open mind. If a women expressives her feelings she’s “overall emotional” and if she tries to argue she’s “crazy” which devalues the entirety of what she was saying. Women are also more times than not viewed as objects by men and are replaceable. If you want women to start treating you with respect you need to give them a voice. Most of the lashing out comes from a history of not being heard in their lives or glanced over. I can say personally that I’ve had one very bad relationship and one very good one. My current boyfriend and I discuss all our issues and we talk them through without problems. My last boyfriend would attempt to make me feel inferior by shoving anything I said wrong in my face and telling me “women will always be dumber than men” then trying to console me by saying “I didn’t mean that” or “you made me say it by being over emotional.” I think you need to stop grouping people into stereotypes and understand that toxicity isn’t bound to a single gender it’s done on a person to person basis.

Is it a gender only thing? I think it might be cultural, I've met more women who apologize (non American) than not. Granted my whole family has this toxic behavior even the men, but it's a cultural thing for Caribbean parents to not apologize ever even when they're dead wrong. Remember when I moved to the US, lots of Americans also give a fake apology, especially for screw ups at work. They apology for the screw up and then do it again, and the American guys I've dated do the same thing, fake apologies and continue with the same behavior. Being remorseful means you don't repeat said behavior or at least try to do better. I'll never understand a culture of fake apologies, it makes Americans seems very shallow and always putting on a facade. I never had a lot of lady friends when I moved to the states, mostly because my hobbies don't have a lot of women in them (video games, dnd, anime, things Americans call nerdy) so I have limited lady interactions but those I've interacted with were other immigrants and they apologized all the time (even to inanimate objects). Maybe for me it's just a bird's of feather situation so outside my family I have yet to meet such toxic people.
