Also the Achilles tendon cannot load completely during the loading phase as it is stopped by a chunky sole. Instead, the heel should reach further down to store more elastic energy into the Achilles tendon that can be released at the push phase. If the cadence is high enough, this will all occur naturally as a plyometric rebound during the stretch shortening cycle (SSC) and be better running economy than with shoes with thick sole which impedes the tendon from loading fully.

Very interesting. Changed to low drop shoes to help my running style. also changed my pelvis tilt to a "neutral" position to run faster. Could you elaborate again on the pelvis position during running? Specially for sprinting. I hear a lot of "tucked pelvis" for better sprinting.

I had to start using a more traditional trail running Brooks Cascadia (11 for now and tried the most recent two in store to know the lastest will work but the previous due to the squishy foam would not work on trails) shoe because of how soft the current standard daily runner midsoles had become back in 2015, using the rock plate as part of the stiffening of the midsole as well. The main problem was I felt that brands with these new cushioning started the trend that Hoka launched of the maximal running shoes incliding Hoka's first road running race day shoe in about this time that was like a Socony Kinvara only a little lighter due to the materials used and now the movement to the Super Shoes. The other is the running shoes at the time had lost the toe bumpers so they were not great in running on rough streets or light gravel trails thus wearing out early, a problem since fixed with the modern running shoes using either a light internal toe bumper like a thin sticker material only better protected then the last running shoes with a true outer toe bumper or some kind of better woven material denser/thicker then the other mesh areas of the shoe that would last a longer time then the first models without a toe bumper that were pure mesh. This was that period where you had to buy the top of the line product in any category of item just to have it last more then a few weeks/months outside of Vehicles or some tools so basic a cheap if used carefully would last. I like a stiff midsole and loved the way the old ASICS 2100 series was with the inner stiff part to help keep the foot in line, why I still race in last 2 models of DS racer or even have a DS Trainer 23 only got due to sale cheap but is light enough to be a racing flat as this is not thick in the newer midsole material that I can't feel the ground. Also I think if I did want to go with a Minimal shoe for regular daily runner, I would get cheaper cross country shoes like an ASICS model of spikeless still found on Amazon that have a little bit of a midsole, are not the new type made for grass/soft dirt-mud only cross country races, not the type lacking any midsole at all but the type that could be used on gravel/road running or at worst get some no spikes for the same shoes only they are spiked to keep stuff out of the spike holes.

This is why high heel drop shoes often have a toe spring. It’s a constant solve one problem but create another story. I started incorporating Xeros slowly the past year and now I’m 100% on em. Simply can’t go back now, the advantages of a natural stride are too great.

The thing is running shoes with a heel drop usually have also a toe spring, so the big toe is already extended and there's more of a rolling motion of the foot instead of a push off.
