I listened to these guys in Omaha when they performed with 3 other groups. At the end of the concert, the turtles asked the audience if we wanted to her the concert again. The turtles repeated the concert! Amazing, will always be my favorite group!!

He was only 37 years old here. Now unfortunately he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. I saw him on stage in July 2023 and it was noticeable. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last that we see of him.

These guys were about 2 years ahead of me in high school. Westchester High School, Los Angeles, CA. They had a band (local) called the Crossfires. They're still doing the Happy Together tour.

Howard and Mark performed as Flo and Eddie after the Turtles then with Zappa and the Mothers. I still remember a Saturday night party - guy walks in with the new Mothers of Invention album out that very day. Off came the shrink wrap and onto his parent's Zenith console. I could die tomorrow and be happy..

I loved them with Frank Zappa. "Just Another Band From LA" is still my fav Zappa record. I also loved it when they sang their "bullet" on the Zappa live album. I still sing Magdalena in honor of Howard.

Always dug their music. White Whale Label. I got one of Mark Volman's drum sticks his was using as a percussionist piece. 2 sticks. It was a Great Performance and l got to see them. Great Video! Then saw them years later on the Happy Together Tour. Both on Long Island.

That their post break-up mentor was Frank Zappa says volumes. Zappa is a musical genius. Interesting to hear they did sound tracks for such a diversity of kids' shows.

I had no idea who these guys were until I saw a clip of them interviewing Bowie on TV from the late 70s and saw the sidebar links (I'm an 80s kid). Then I looked them up. Talented, funny, and smart dudes! I'll bet their experiences would make an interesting, offbeat Netflix-type series.

I saw them in '84 when they came to Spokane with the bands they mentioned above including Gary Lewis and the Playboys in their "Happy Together Tour".....it was GREAT!!

Turtles played a double bill with the Iron Butterfly at Massey Hall in Toronto in 1968 or 69. Led Zeppelin was playing up the street. We showed up at the back door and helped carry in the gear. Yesss. Another free concert for just a little bit of work.

Playing at the Eagle's Club!? The following night is Bingo, and then on Saturday is the annual Crab Feed! Saw Flo and Eddie New Year's Eve at Winterland, San Francisco (1975) opening for the Tubes. They had a great band and put on a wonderful show. Best wishes to you all.

Mark is still doing Happy Together tours with Gary Pucket, The Association, and several other groups added over the years. The singer from The Archie's replaced Howard several tours back.

They were a fun rock n roll group. Elenore was a song that hit home in a nice way. " Even though your folks hate me". That is followed by i think i love. Also a real band who played live.

I've seen these men in person twice. First time was at the Dallas, TX Sportatorium with The Grass Roots (Rob Grill anyway) and Dave "Elvis" Tapley in Oct. 1990. Another time was the July 4 Celebration in Garland, TX in 1999. When they performed my favorite song of theirs, "She'd Rather Be With Me", Mark would make a show of hitting the cowbell with a mallet then bouncing the mallet on the ground a few times.

Exactly !! He should look like this in 2019 ! But you know what i might have an explanation about this : theory #1 he took drugs . theory #2 some people get white hair early and i saw this when i was in middle school some kids had white hair at age 12 or 13 so howard maybe had white hair when he was a kid but then he dyed it when he got older but then suddenly gave up on it and grew a beard to get an old man look and kept it .

strange how time works IF this interview is from 84 and Kaylen might have been born in 47. That would make him 37 when he did this interview. Both Volman and Kaylen were born the same year, according to their autobiography. They do not look the same age
