Placement of the tool can be a little tricky. The sensor is inside the tire, mounted on the inside surface of the rim, at the valve stem, and the tool has to be pointed at it, even though you can’t see it. I recommend moving the tool around to point it at the sensor.

@@samuelmedina5700 Sorry to hear that. From personal experience, I have used the tool on my 2009 (which is the same as the 2010) with no issues. Most of the 06-13 style Impalas you can enter tire learning by pressing the 2 button down on the 4 info buttons on the dash. Keep pressing the button until you see it say press ✔ to enter tire learning mode. That is the bottom/4th button and when it press it the message center will then display tire learning active and you proceed as shown in the video. Maybe this will help save someone from locking the keys in their car by using the remote method.

@HowtoandReviewsOfficial Жыл бұрын
They are definitely highly recommended. They keep dirt and water out of the valve, which can damage it and cause it to leak. They also offer some protection by holding the air in if the valve leaking.

2011 Impala with no key fob! How do I enter tire learning?
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial Жыл бұрын
The process is specified in the owners manual (page 10-55). The key fob is the only listed method. I personally don’t know of another way. Keep me updated, and good luck!

Typical GM. They’ll want you to bring it in to a dealership where they can do it without a fob. Yet you the owner of the car can’t. Another way for GM to get hundreds out of you for something that should be simple for you to do yourself. How do I know? I own a 2013 Chevy Impala LTZ and have this exact problem every tire rotation. And I was sold the car with no key fob, just a chipped key. Nice GM. Thanks.

Sorry it was not clear. 1:40 Let Air out of the tire until the car horn sounds. The change in pressure will let the system know that that is the tire it needs to learn. Then, when you finish syncing all four tires, add air back to all of the tires so they are at proper operating pressure. However, I believe this method is only available for vehicles before 2011. After that, the tool is required. If this method is available to you, the details will be specified in your owners manual. I hope that helps!

@@reocejacobs1259 Hi! The air down method does not work on newer vehicles. The tool is required for newer vehicles. I am not exactly certain when this changed, but I believe 2011 is when the tool became required. My brother tried doing the air down method in his 2016 truck, and it didn’t work. He brought it to a dealership, and they told him the tool was required for that year. The air down method works in my 2009. The owners manual has the procedure for how to do it. My 2012 doesn't have learn mode and I can't do it with pressing lock and unlock either.
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial Жыл бұрын
The procedure is on page 10-46 of your owners manual. 1. Set the parking brake. 2. Turn the ignition to ON/RUN with the engine off. 3. Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter's LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time for approximately five seconds. The horn sounds twice to signal the receiver is in relearn mode and the TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message displays on the DIC screen. 4. Start with the driver side front tire. 5. Place the relearn tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor. A horn chirp confirms that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position. 6. Proceed to the passenger side front tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5. 7. Proceed to the passenger side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5. 8. Proceed to the driver side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5. The horn sounds two times to indicate the sensor identification code has been matched to the driver side rear tire, and the TPMS sensor matching process is no longer active. The TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message on the DIC display screen goes off. 9. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF. 10. Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure level as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label Good luck!

What to do if you don't have a key fob for Chevy Impala 2012
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hi. From what I know, the key fob is required to enter learn mode. I believe you will either have to purchase an oem key fob and get it programmed to your car, or take it to the dealership and have them relearn the wheels (the dealership can enter learn mode without the key fob). I would recommend doing some internet research to see if there are any other options, but those are the only two options that I am aware of. Let us know how it goes!

1:42 let air out of the tire. The pressure change is how the system knows that is the tire that is being programmed. When the horn beeps, that tire has been learned, then go to the next tire and repeat for all 4 tires. After all 4 tires are learned, you will need to go back and re-inflate all of the tires to the correct operating pressure.
@latishachapman65882 жыл бұрын
That didn't work.. I got the tool now but the horn won't honk for the last tire
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
@@latishachapman6588 If it won’t honk for a tire, it cannot connect to the sensor inside the tire, and it is likely that the battery is dead in the sensor. The sensors are advertised to last 5 to 10 years. I have an eight year old vehicle where all four of the sensors still work. I also have a 13 year-old vehicle where three sensors still work, but one died and had to be replaced last year. My suggestion is if you tried moving the tool around and it would not connect, then the sensor may need to be replaced.
