Heard this song plenty of times but never saw the music video. Holy shit that was deep and sad. You are totally on point on how humans act. Another hozier song you may like is Jackie and Wilson. Just random suggestion might be to react to conqueror by aurora or what kind of man by Florence and the machine. Just an idea. Keep it up!

Matthew Shepard was killed when I was in 8th grade, right as I was coming to terms with the fact that I experience same sex attraction. It took me another 10 years before I was comfortable enough to tell anyone that I was bisexual. To me, away from the video, this song is less about individual violence and more about religious (specifically Catholic) neglect and the more subtle violence of refusing to accept a person as they are. The singer is rejecting the faith that has rejected them and is choosing instead to follow their lover.

the problem is that you cannot say that. "LGBT people are not a danger to people" this is beyond false. any person can commit hateful acts no matter what there beliefs are. do not put a group of people above brutality, this is ignorance. many people who follow/part of/ believe in LGBT have committed crimes just like every other group of people. group mentality needs to come to a stop, we are people, stop attaching labels and putting some labels above others.

+NearlySeniorCitizen Yetagamer New fan of yours, I love that you are, as far as I can tell, real with your reactions and you don't overdo it. Also your comments are realistically your comments, not "what I think people would like for me to say". Well you do choose your words not to be offensive but your own thought comes through. Lastly the perspective of a more 'seasoned' person is good, although having watched so many videos now you probably are better at internet culture than most. : ) For about the world moving forward, we should just be pragmatic. Russia and others are going their own way and others are going their own way, we are still a "test tube" animal/civilization group in a sense. Whoever wins, wins. So far barriers have gone down mostly in the "Western" world, does giving people more control equal a better society remains to be seen. Some rules have to be in place, one example being laws. Violence obviously is the wrong answer, unless it is to protect and the other person is being violent to begin with. I do believe this video was being a little artistic and as artists often do over-stated the point to make a contrast. I at least have not heard of lynching of this sort for gays in a western state happening in current times.

I just found out about you today, and I really love you. This makes me happy beyond belief because with your generation, there is a lot more closed minded people. With my generation there is still closed minded people, i feel like there always will be. I am bi, or pan, maybe gay. I'm not really sure, nor do I care. Love is love to me. But when I'm around older people I find it more difficult to talk about this stuff because what the reaction mostly is. I love that you didn't question their love, nor did you say anything about it. Just a head nod and a "okay" but you said you "hate people" not because of their love but because of the people against their love. I could see you really were upset about the fact that they were being tortured for this, and your understanding that this stuff actually does happen, and that you feel genially bad for people who have to go through this. Keep this up, I love you, I love this, and I earned so much respect for you within the few videos I watched. Thank you so much.

I love your reaction to this video. I have watched so many others who try change the meaning of the video to fit their views. My uncle was gay and married a woman and didnt admit to being gay till he was on his deathbed. The fact is religion states you can only love the opposite sex and not everyone is born that way. You can't choose who you love. I am bisexual and im lucky that i have support from most of my family but sadly that isnt the case for a lot of people and its heartbreaking.
