ok but can we talk abt how good he is at taking rlly dark shit and making it sound gorgeous and romantic, like cherry wine does that lyrically and stylistically. he’s singing as someone who is in an abusive relationship but still sees it as a romantic and soft love, and this song is rlly dark but the actual delivery of it is so gentle and romantic (and it’s called ‘cherry wine’ for gods sake, it has such a Soft title)

Studying qawwalli with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan... hearing Jeff live was heavenly. The most incredible thing was he never strained his voice. I only wish he and Nusrat F.A. Khan recorded together. I photographed bands for a living. NEVER heard anyone sing like Jeff. Hosier doesn't come close. He's more like Nick Drake mixed with Van Morrison.

Why is it always about SINGING with females . The singer is always the most musically ignorant one in a band . Mozart , Bach , Paganini , Miles Davis , John Coltrane , ect. ect. didn't sing ! Try mastering a musical instrument ! The dumbing down of music ! If any of these musical genius's of the past were alive in today's dumbed down world they would never win a Grammy for record of the year !

It's over, what does any of this even matter for? When you're dead, rotting in the ground, you're not going to think about how music is dumbing down the people of today's society. I think you're taking this out of proportion. Can I not make a comment saying, in my opinion, that he is a great singer without getting some guy like you bashing on me and throwing a temper tantrum over it? I feel sorry that you spend your day attacking people over the internet for harmlessly making a comment that had no intentions of starting any sort of shit. Take your aggression and pent up anger onto something more productive than starting a fully fledged argument on KZbin. Stop prodding me over a comment I posted days ago, it's completely irreverent.

reading the other comments, I wonder about why people are so negative. This is an attractive man with an amazing amount of talent. personally i like the long hair, and I am very fond of the Irish accent. On top of all that, he is an amazing poet. So let's celebrate that. Why do people have to be so negative about admiration shown to others? For gosh sake can't we just celebrate the human condition? And admire the heck out of extraordinary talent as this man has?

People insist on putting down others when they are unhappy with their own achievements, or worse, look at someone and see an "other," someone or something they don't understand and fear.
@acestorms52565 жыл бұрын
putting people on pedestals isn't for everyone. The more people are content with their life, the easier it is for them to acknowledge and accept someones talent. But why does everyone always have to like the same thing as everyone else? Why can't you accept that there's different people from different walks of life.Digustibus non est disputandum.I like his music and appreciate his public appearances, not that it matters.

Hozier bridges the gap that many people see between music and other Art. The songs that this man creates are just as beautiful, timeless, and significant as Cathedrals built in the middle ages, as paintings done by the old masters, and by poems written long ago. His music is Artistic in a way that a lot of musicians today fail to capture

A lot more to be loved about the whole of his music. The haunting banshee like wails of the backup singers and musicians, the ring out of the distortion on songs like " A Week" and "Like real people do".
