Spilled a mixed beverage all over mine like 6 months ago. Ran pretty good but definitely was overheating and sticky keys. Finally took the time to open it up and see the damage. Thankfully my biggest problems was just dust and stuff in the fans and such. Everything else looked good tho! Would not have been able to do this without your video. Thank you so much!!! @@Doudla1 this model uses internal notebook battery as CMOS battery bro. Just buy a new battery for your laptop. It worked for me.

@ i changed my battery , cmos issue is fixed but , i didnt find any solution about random charger disconnecting,maybe my charger is faulty(but i think its not coz, When it disconnects i have to plug out of switch and then put it in again to charge my laptop, its doesn't work if i do on/off switch or out/in pin. I have to plug out charger from wall socket to get it work.If u have any soln then tell me

@Amity024 turned out that cmos battery is the big battery. I took out mine battery completely and sometimes there is a message about resetting cmos, but my laptop is booting without any problem. It will restart once and then boot to normal windows logging screen.

@@Blu_Lion ditto same issue i had,as i told bigger main battery has inbuilt cmos,i replaced and issue fixed i used genuine battery from HP, but 3rd party also working fine. But one issue is not solved and that is charger charges and stops charging after smtime, i have to plug in again from wall socket

@Amity024 that's why I pulled out battery completely. Reinstalled system to Windows 10 and installed all necessary drivers, but I noticed that from the moment when I took out the battery, my wifi card is going wild. At some point, it couldn't detect that there is any, and my laptop needed wire connection. Updating to a newer version of Windows 10 gave me blue screen, but it was probably because of wifi card problem. After wire, no blue screen and everything updated as it should. Maybe try to install Ubuntu and see if there will be any problem 😉 so far laptop is working without any problem

Man, I just wanted to say I'm very thankful that you made this video. I have an Omen 15-ce008nw for probably 3 years now and I have opened this laptop for a lot of times, but I've never replaced the thermal paste and thermopads. I think, that replacing these things should be very easy, but I have one problem. Do you know how many thermopads and how thick will I need? I don't know which and how many should I buy and I don't want to spend too much money on it. I can't find any photos of the detached heatsink to see how many I should get. I would be very grateful if you could tell me how much of it I need or send me a photo of it (of course if it's not a problem). Btw you're doing a great job! keep it up!

Does the main battery control or act a a cmos battery? The reason I ask is because your video don't show a cmos battery on the motherboard. I must assume that if I remove the main battery and press the power button on and off a few times and leave for 20 minutes. do you think this would help me reset a forgotten password on the bios?

It doesn't have the battery at all. My son and I did a teardown and it's not on the mother board, identical to this one. It's not even in the parts list of the computer, so, it doesn't come with a battery at all.

@@allennewborn936 I found that out and once you lose the password to the bios, you have to buy a new motherboard which can cost as much as a new computer.

I do not think this would help reset password, because this kind of main board, if my guess is right, use some tech like mobile to save data(password) in a chip on board. To reset passwd, it needs to remove that chip from board. BTW, I am curious that a laptop, with minor type different, 15-dc0004TX, always prompt that CMOS error when startup, after press Enter key, win10 can startup normally...

Great video. My son and I just did a teardown of his omen laptop which was a bit different than yours but similar. We were looking for the RTC battery for a bios reset and low and behold, nope.. Doesn't have one. It's not even in the stock online parts list. His laptop shut off in the middle of playing and it won't turn back on again. The battery is blown up like a balloon, so, we took the battery out and plugged it in without and the led light beside where the jack goes into the computer didn't come on. Assumed it was the ac adapter.. bought a new one and still, no light. HP won't help. Looking up the issue doesn't help as most of the IDENTICAL inquiries are left unanswered. Not sure what to do.

Thanks very much for this! I now know what I am looking at inside my laptop. My Hp Omen 15-dh just suddenly stopped powering on. Power light comes on for about 3 seconds then goes out. Dead as a door nail. No screen, no keys. Nothing. I read somewhere to check the RTC battery but I can't find it. I didn't see it in your video either. Am I barking up the wrong tree??

You can disconnect the battery for long period of time to drain bios. Does not seem to have cmos in this. BTW, flashing caps is not bios. Sound like a bad motherboard

How would you connect an external monitor to this if the laptop screen is broken. I want to access bios but my external monitor will only connect if it boots into windows 10 and it doesn't work if I try spamming the boot key on startup.

Hi. I do not think is the cable. I think the fades and stripes is coming from the LCD screen.
