Board exams are now required before you can start comm serv. After comm serv you register as an independent practitioner and you can basically work anywhere you'd like.

Hi Portia, think about the exam as though you are talking to someone who has no knowledge of psychology. Explain things as though you are explaining to a clueless person, don't just assume the panel knows your reasoning cause the whole point of the exam is for the panel to see that you have a clear understanding and logical reasoning for what you are doing.

Unfortunately, there is no category you can register and practice in with just an undergrad. You'd need to look for other job opportunities that look for psych graduates.

One thing I didn't understand fully. Did you say that it's possible to have an oral exam as opposed to a written? I heard a part of the vid where you said you preferred the oral even though you didn't do the written?

Hi, hope this helps- during Covid the exam was oral. As off February this year, it is back to written.

Yes, we had our exams during COVID so they only offered oral exams where as they had previously only had written exams. I'm not sure how the process works now. I personally found the oral exams to be somewhat better as it went by a bit quicker but the disadvantage is you don't get the flexibility of having time to throughly think through your response and/ or skip and come back to questions as you process and make sense of things more.
