Time to get this little HPI Firestorm started; featuring a brand new HPI G3.0 Engine. I ended up replacing the engine as the old one was beyond economical repair; the cost of parts would've exceeded the cost of a new one. In this video I fire it up for the first time!

I don't know of many 2WD's , if you're wanting a quiet exhaust have you considered brushless ?
@mdfishman19594 жыл бұрын
Ad Min the traxxas nitro rustler is quiet and also 2wd! It’s quite affordable too, hope this helps!

Its a hard to find engine, still even now. I managed to find one but a good replacement is the force fe 1802.
@TheRCBiker3 жыл бұрын
These are Force 18 engines with a different colour cylinder head.

You could dye the servo case black.

What other engines can you use for the firestorm
@bingcringing3 жыл бұрын
Any small block should fit. .12/15/18. Different cranks and exhausts will need extra parts ofc

The colour for the wheels I suppose it depends on the colour of the Shell

Sorted it now :)

the traxxas rustler has the same body shell, i think

Always fancied one of these. Seems to be discontinued though 😢 do you know of a good alternative 2wd nitro car?
@charlesmcgehee32274 жыл бұрын
Well done man. A new HPI engine, well broken in, is a pretty fine little engine or the price. Rebuilding them is not cost effective. Good video.

Thanks :) This car is running sweet now

hey rc so i got my jato a couple days ago i’m on 3rd break in tank but i can’t i turned the idle down and the idle goes up and up and if i gas it it goes for a little then it quits
@TheRCBiker4 жыл бұрын
So you need to turn down the throttle trim, and then set the carb opening gap using the idle screw

Hi ive just found your channel its brilliant very helpful. Ive got a hobao pirate monster nitro truck. Its got a Vertex 21 engine I can't find the factory settings for the carb. Can you help? Thanks
@TheRCBiker4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, glad it helps :) The factory settings for the VX engines are pretty hard to find, there isn't much information about the engines. For the high end flushing it to the edges and then doing 1 turn in should be fine, and for the low end flushing it to edges is usually a good base setting for most engines
@yellowduckmarc184 жыл бұрын
Brilliant thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it.

My truck currently has a number 8 glow plug in it. What would you recommend? I live in Bournemouth so its about 20 degrees outside this time of year.

Hi mate, new to the hobby, having got what I’d say was a reasonable HSN tune I set about fine tuning lsn for better throttle response and since touching that it’s all gone pear shape. I have now returned all needles back to factory setting and idle gap back to recommended gap size (1mm/0.040’’) and on start up the idle is far to higher and the wheels are spinning far to fast. LSN pinch test is around 5 seconds which I’d say isn’t to bad, perhaps a bit rich. Should I be worried about an air leak or should I concentrate on the idle screw? By making the idle gap smaller should I be Richening or leaning my LSN? Please help!
@TheRCBiker4 жыл бұрын
What car do you have? The idle screw and low end needle are two different things, you shouldn't need to adjust one just because you've adjusted the other. It sounds like your low end could be too lean if the idle is set to 1mm yet the wheels are still spinning
@gavinshort374 жыл бұрын
I have a HPI bullet ST 3.0. The only reason I said about the idle is I’ve heard people say about false idles etc. I have the carb gap at 1mm, in the manual it says default lsn setting is 1 and half turns in from flush which is what I’ve done, and I still can’t get it to idle with out it wanting to move, so you reckon leave the idle screw at 1mm and just adjust LSN starting by richening? Also I found that if I apply throttle it cuts out, but I can’t help but think this is because now my HSN is far to rich
@gavinshort374 жыл бұрын
From what I understand it has the same engine as featured in the truck in this video

@danielwood4590 Жыл бұрын
Sigma fuel is far better than optifuel i use optifuel for break in and when i want to tune for power i use sigma or other available race fuels not optifuel it sucks when you want to get optimal performance

We could have gotten a little bit more than just literally starting an engine?😂😂 maybe a hi speed pass?? 🤷🏾♂️

Its a brand new engine, you can't just rag it straight away they have to be broken in
