Got my order in for this kit, but I forgot the last edition only included the 440 's (1-2-1) exhaust manifolds but most of the Hemi parts, too, but since I've been building models since 1964, I have enough correct stock Hemi exhausts (1-1-1-1) in my spare parts to build the correct Hemi engine. Thanks for re-releasing this kit. Besides, I can use the 440 exhaust manifolds of this engine on the Warlock !

The 440 as a Hemi wasn't offered by Mopar. It was however buildable aftermarket. PAW back in the day offered the parts to convert a high block into a Hemi. Nice build as always. The original '70s kit had optional wheels, headers and other hot rod parts. It's ashamed Round 2 cheaps out on the remakes!!! But it's their loss. Others are truly stepping up!!!

In terms of using the rubbing alcohol to clear up the Sharpie mistakes, I guess you have to wait till the paint is fully cured and not use too much of it, am I right? That cleaned up very nicely and I love the bright colors those older cars came in. I don't recall whether this is a newly tooled kit or a reissue, but it looks like a well detailed model.

Dodge and Plymouth never made a 440 hemi, they're strictly 426 cubic inches, Hemis also didn't come with air conditioning, especially with an air grabber hood, the compressor won't clear the scoop base. Nice build though.

@@ensignjimmy3237 No the kit is modified to resemble a 71 Hemi charger, but looks like the same 440 block with.hemi heads,valve covers and air grabber setup included, but if it were mine I'd take the hemi and 4sp from the 1970 super bee kit and put in this kit, I'm a 4spd guy, so that's what I'd do with it.

Has anyone had any experience with spray can automotive touch up paint on a plastic car model? Are there any issues painting over primer as a base coat? Any compatibility issues at all? Thank you.
@hpiguy5 ай бұрын
Lots of folks use Duplicolor from auto parts stores to get factory colors. As long as you lay a primer (I use their brand primer when I use that paint) it shouldn't melt the plastic.

Thank you for your answer. Have you had any experience with the brand automotivetouchup. (all one word) spray paints? Looks like they offer a good selection of factory colors. One other question. I hope to do a headliner and would like to incorporate bows made from styrene. What size styrene strips would you recommend to duplicate late 60's-early 70's Mopars? Thank you.

this is not an accurate '71 426 Hemi Charger kit. the Hemi parts are modeled after the Stage V Hemi conversion for RB engines from the 90's. this is why the kit has the 440 A/C set up, which wasn't available in any 426 Hemi optioned car. the Stage V parts were included in the custom '71 Super Bee kit, and are now part of the R/T kit. with some modifications and kitbashing, you can build an accurate 426 Hemi Charger from this kit however......
