The ending just really messes up the whole great anime. He kills himself, and humanity, on the basis that the pervious god did nothing to help humanity from suffering, yet his option was to just remove all suffering by there not being anyone to suffer. to echo everyone, who let the suicidal guy become god! He did the same thing the previous god did, nothing to help.
