I haven't removed the digitizer from this one but you should be able to take it off from the front.

My glass is cracked but everything else still works. My cell company is offering a different phone, but I would rather stick with my HTC. If I get the LCD out will I be able to replace the glass after the tear down?

I don't think so usually but it depends on where you buy it.

@ANKIT METHANIYA You can try a hard reset but if it is a hardware problem then you are going to need get a new screen somehow.

it is possible to separate the digitiser from the LCD right? cos my digitiser is cracked and i've already bought a spare digitizer. None of the repair shops in my area want to fix it for me so i plan on doing it myself

I haven't tried this one yet but it is probably possible. Getting it off without cracking the LCD and applying LOCA will be challenging I'm sure. Wish that I could give you more info but with this phone we just replace the entire display assembly.

i was debating a note 4 or htc one max. although i love the one max design. im gonna go with a note 4. in the future a battery replacement will be super easy with the note 4. but a complete nightmare with the one max

can you replace just the digitizer without completely disassembling the whole phone..? I had the HTC DNA and when I first had to replace the digitizer I followed an online tutorial that had me disassemble everything but after I realized it really didn't have to b taken apart.. so is it really necessary to do a complete teardown to replace the digitizer?

You might be able to separate the touchscreen from the LCD but I haven't tried with this one. For most HTC phones we find it easiest to just replace the whole display assembly. They tend to drop in price so quickly that the money saved rarely justifies the extra work involved.

Can you restate the question? I think that "reform holidays" is not the term that you are looking for.

OK is the digitizer basically the glass panel and the digitizer the "monitor" which is like the black and silver stuff underneath the glass? Well yesterday I tried to remove the screen and I had no idea how to do it so I accidentally broke the lcd when originally only my glass digitizer was broken! I placed an order right away for another "touch screen digitizer+ Lcd" yesterday. I think replacing the whole lcd plus the digitizer will be 10x easier than just trying to replace the digitizer. My question is how do I stick the screen back on? Do I need special adhesive or can I just use super glue.. Thank you and please reply ASAP because I really need your help.

Please don't ever use glue on your phone. Double sided adhesive tape like the stuff on this page is recommended: gocellphonerepair.com/double-sided-adhesive-tape/

We used a Y0 and it worked even though it didn't look like it would. Ideally whatever works for the Nintendo DS is what I would recommend.

Long time since the video was made but since he's using the iFixit bits it has to be a Y0. The other one in the kit is a Y1 and that would be too big.

All the way at the end before you started putting it back together.. When you were like if you want to change the screen remove the top speaker

Rushil Patel Ah gotcha. So I was talking about the earpiece speaker. It is stuck to the inside of the frame and can be carefully removed and transferred to your new display assembly. You will want to use some heat and be sure not to poke any holes in it especially the underside where the diaphragm is located.

This phone is not too tough in my opinion. You should be able to use this video as a guide for tha majority of the repair. Unfortunately I dont have a One Max on hand to make a new video.

+Jose Mungua Could be hardware or software. If it were me I'd back up anything important and try a factory reset first. If that doesn't work consider replacing the camera. It's hard to know what the cause is.
