Love your patch from scratch vids. And yes, I'd like to see more of these sound design patches focussing on a few modules. Thanks for all you do, Omri - I'm still a beginner at VCV, but I would never have got to where I am in my modular journey without your videos. It's like taking a masterclass with you.

How do you find the hardware cruinn module sound compared to the vcv version? Noticeably more “analog” sounding or quite similar?

@@OmriCohen-Music Also, when I say “this type of content”, I mean the patch from scratch stuff. It’s really informative and great to patch along to… It’s one of the reasons I miss your live streams when you used to build from zero to some mega sounding patch. 👍
@OmriCohen-Music Жыл бұрын
@@chitlun Yeah, patch from scratch videos are fun and I sure do miss streaming. This video is a bit different though since it's only one voice and not a full patch. Is this also interesting?

@@OmriCohen-Music Oh definitely! There’s a lot to be learned from working with a single voice. Limitation = Creativity! 👍
@marcovene5205 Жыл бұрын
@@OmriCohen-Music Yes! It's mad interesting 'cause my mind immediately starts wondering what i could build around this single sound. It's a different feeling from full patch videos but definitely worth it!

Beginner here... If you mess with the "Coarse" or "Fine" knobs at the bottom, how would you make sure that the sound is still in tune with your keyboard (so that C on the keyboard actually results in C being played)? Would you have to use something like Hot Tuna or some other tuner to actually make sure that pressing the C key results in a C note, or is there something more simple than that? And how would you suggest dropping the output by an octave? Would I have to tune it to C3 instead of C4, or again, is there a more simple way to do this using, for example, the 1V/OCT input?
@OmriCohen-Music Жыл бұрын
Hi! Well, if you change the settings and you want to bring it back to C, just double-click the knobs and they will jump back to default, which is C. In hardware, there's a need for a tuner, yes. I usually take the Depth knob all the way down, and then use the Sigma output for tuning it. If it's tuned to C, then a C note on your keyboard will also produce the note C. If you want to lower the pitch by an octave, you can use the OCT module from VCV. You send it to the V\OCT input, and then change the octaves. If you're using external pitch as well (like your keyboard or a sequencer), then you send it through OCT, and it will still offset everything. In hardware, there's again a need for a tuner. I hope it all makes sense. Let me know :)

Do you get pops and clicks if you play the notes fast like we do with hardware eurorack oscillators ? I know some envelopes can remove it but nothing I have tried is perfect. Thank You!!

Not really, no. Cruin has multiple saw waves that you can detune. STO has a choice of 3 waves, but they all follow the same direction.
