The LEGO Group and Formula 1 have just announced a new multi-year strategic partnership that will launch in 2025. I will try to figure out in this video what this means for Formula 1 and LEGO fans.

I wonder the same thing with CaDA, Rastar, etc. I hope it doesn’t mean that other companies can’t get licenses anymore because that would suck. In my eyes CaDA’s Alfa Romeo was a lot better than the McLaren or Mercedes from Lego

There is already rumor next year's Collectable Minifigure series will NOT have full minifigures but buildable cars with only minifigure heads. That is unfortunate. For reference, look up set 8350...

IMHO, Lego was cooking this since we start seeing the latest F1 cars in speed champions, then the Icons McLaren MP4 Ayrton Senna, and finally the Mercedes-AMG F1 E Performance ... I bet I was not the only one thinking that Lego was just testing the market for these big plans. All I can say is that I'm SUPER excited 🏎️💨🔥

Speed champions is definitely the contender for the theme receiving all teams. What I think TLG might do is somewhat limited runs of batches of teams for a certain time period. I hope we get to see more historic cars in creator expert scale WITH properly scaled wheels

As a Lego Friends fan, it'd be funny if we get an F1 set in Friends, I can see there being 1 or 2 but not a massive wave, like how Friends only had 3 Space sets. Minidoll scale F1 cars would certainly be interesting, and an F1 driver as a minidoll would actually be quite funny

Ever since the MP4/4 was released I've thought it's the best compromise for a good size detailed model for an affordable price. Perhaps a Lotus 49, Ferrari 312T, F2004 for more f1 classics in the same scale and price range. Outside of F1 in that scale some old rally cars, Group C le man, or standard classic road cars. Even with more pieces than the f1 cars in that scale I don't reckon they would pass £100 price range.

F1 garage as a Technic set is something I would really like to see. Tons of opportunities for mechanical functions. Plus it would be nice to see a Technic set that is something else than just another vehicle.

I'm assuming we'll get more models like the Ayrton Senna McLaren Forumla 1 Car during this partnership which I'm down for, but I have a caveat and ultimatum about it; they better be produced a lot better than the Senna F1 set. Lego must've got the feedback of the flaws and issues of that set by now, so there is no excuse for potential future sets of the same ilk to carry the same issues over for how much we're paying for these; the Senna F1 set was priced a little high but not too outrageously, but needed better production quality.

I would love to see a downscaled version of all 20 cars, (probably like 4 studs by 7 studs) and a miniature version of all formula 1 tracks on a 2-4 baseplates so we can run the cars on the track (I'm not a great idea, but hey, its an idea) also detailed tyres along with the tyre types (soft, medium, hard, wet, slick etc) would be cool

If they're really serious about adult F1 fans, and engineering, they should make sets of sub assemblies, like the front suspension. A 1/8 size fully correct assembly would be a great desk object. Incorporating an one the fly adjustment as in the real thing

Lego has also branded itself as being pro human rights, and yet they released a load of McLaren sets with the NEOM logo plastered across them. So I think Lego has shown it's prepared to let it's values slide if there's a profit to be made.

Probably because the government cracks down on it so hard, and they've already killed most of the Howeitat tribe to build NEOM. I was against NEOM sponsoring McLaren from the start, but going to every race is expensive and I really don't see what good that would actually do compared to just saying my piece online and getting on with my day. The idea that murder is wrong should not be controversial, yet when there's a bunch of Saudi money involved, suddenly all these "ethical" companies are silent. Just seems hypocritical to me.

Though, that's just a fever dream and has nothing to do with the announcement. -does this mean we get F1 cars with properly proportioned wheels and tires? Please? -I hope we get get a selection of multiple cars but with different colors, minor detail differences, and livery to choose our favorite teams to buy and represent. -I hope none of these sets are wildly overpriced...

I like this partnership idea that Lego is doing. I just hope they can actually make one motorized. I could see why it would be a bad thing too, because of them being too low to the ground. It would be nice to see if they can do it but it might take away the suspension which I wouldn't mind.

As a motorsport fan, this gives me hope that maybe one day, Lego will do something like this with Le Mans as well. Like F1, Speed Champions featured a good number of Le Mans prototypes and it would be nice to see all the Le Mans Hypercars be made like what they will do with the F1 grid. A pipe dream, but if that happens, I will buy Lego again for the opportunity to buy sets of my 3 favorite motorsport teams right now: a Red Bull F1 car, a Toyota Le Mans Hypercar, and a Cadillac Le Mans Hypercar. A man can dream, eh? With the license granting Lego to make each year's F1 cars, it would be very nice to see a Speed Champions F1 X WEC crossover set with the Aston Martin AMR26 and Valkyrie LMH double pack in 2026! An Alpine F1 and LMDh double pack would also be amazing.

As a child I had set 6395 which feels like something they could bring up to date with proper garages and a pit wall. Another theme that could come into F1 is architecture. Some of the tracks have some unique grandstands which would ve interesting to capture in lego form.

Id like an f2004. This is fun because lego racers did a lot of schumacher's cars in 2004-2006. But nowadays those are inaccessible to modern fans and are extremely expensive collectors items, so id love to see a lego icons f2004/f2003/f2002 some day.

As an absolute massive formula 1 and Lego fan this crossover was brewing since Liberty Media took over the sport and the popularity of the sport now is amazing to see. Gone are the days of a lightweight v10 powered beast terrorizing really old and historic European racetracks to what we have now which is heavy overcomplicated beasts that take a degree to manage on boring tilkedomes or oil rich countries. Lego has no reason to even entertain the past in formula 1 so I'm looking forward to what the designers come up with and it's not just the formula 1 cars
