Can I order a $16,000 range extender and use it as a powerwall at home? Range extender says 470 miles vs 340 miles with the regular 124 kwh battery, so that means the range extender should be 47 kwh. 47 kwh for $16,000 would be like getting 13 kwh power walls for $4,400 each, which would be a screaming deal!

@@b3owu1f The huge range reduction is only in the tri-motor version. I want the dual motor and that has 40 miles more range than promised. With that tax credit being a point of sale credit next year is it still a tax credit? Meaning you get $7500 off the price but then when you file your taxes if your tax liability was less than that you have to pay back the difference?
@mosconi035911 ай бұрын
This article seems to say something different, "The government knows that nobody really wants to have to calculate their taxes a year in advance in order to figure out if they get a discount on a car or not. And starting in 2024 you won't have to. The credit will be available as a "point-of-sale rebate," which means a car dealership would knock $7,500 off the price of the vehicle and then handle everything with the IRS. That will make it faster and just plain easier to get the credit, without having to wait for a year. It also means you will be able to receive the discount even if you owe less than $7,500 in taxes that year."

The biggest problem tesla has been the Rivian which gives all or most of the features' tesla advertised but left out of the Cybertruck. The price of the Cybertruck may eventually be cut, but the Cybertruck is still not as popular as so many say. The fact that reporters cut themselves on the edges of the truck the fact the steering seems to have serious problems the fact the range is so terrible compared to other trucks is a serious problem, maybe in a few years they will manage to get the 500 miles range they promised, maybe they will install the systems for air powered tools , maybe they will install the ramp for the bed maybe they will do a lot more to build a car that is even close to what was advertised. Meanwhile, other manufacturers are taking note of the many complaints and problems the Cybertruck has already, and i am 100% positive they will be overcoming the Cybertruck failures to build a much more compelling car. All they really need to do is design something that looks futuristic, and tesla loses the only thing attracting customers other than the brand name, which is not as popular as it once was. Oh also as Monro stated the Cybertruck does not have an exoskeleton as advertised.

Why do we give tax credits to people who can afford to buy really expensive cars??? That means that those who either can't afford expensive cars - or can't afford ANY new car at all - end up having to subsadize the purchases for those more affluent buyers. Makes no sense. If you want taxes that make sens, give tax breaks to those in lower income brackets that buy a USED car that is either an EV or gets significantly better gas mileage than the car they currently own (like, 25% better gas mileage, or base their tax refund on the percentage of the mileage improvement).

Correct. They aren't going to give people free, larger batteries. There is no incentive for Tesla to try to give battery capacity away for free. Not that I had a reservation in, I'm pretty sure what my answer would be given the gigantic price increase and the equally gigantic decrease in range is "No, I don't really think so."

Their is a big difference between it is expensive and I can't afford it. As for me I can't afford it so can't buy. But if you can afford it, buy and don't listen to any reason to wait. At what point will the waiting end. For those waiting for Tesla to ship the trucks with bigger rang, that's not going to happen. Maybe the range extender will get better but that's it. Super chargers are going to be everywhere in the future that it makes no sense shipping with that much batteries.

Here's a Tesla news for you. You can get the base Model 3 for $35,090. 😉

I’m beginning to think there is no breaking news or “HUGE” update. Every video you upload is breaking news or a “HUGE update. 🤔

CT is so different from other Tesla’s. Would like to have a more spacious edition Model Y though, like Model Y Max.

what i really want is a van, love the Y, but imagine that in a cargo style van

@@PhanoftheShowvan will be built on ct base. As mentioned on investor day. And, yes, factory layout looks like near ct line enough place for similar style line.

So like a Model X?
@ag4eng11 ай бұрын
@@jonathansage2147 Using Y to make a van would be cost effective and find a market in small businesses. A version for families would be very nice. This would not require a lot of retooling or new battery.

Ryan, I doubt you will read this comment, but I plan to get mine when they offer it because of Elon’s promise to sell mine with FSD Beta at $7,000 since that’s what it was and his promise vs how ever much it goes up after that. It is now $12,000 and it would save me $5k!
