Hugh Laurie (that’s “Big Ass Taxi” in American) is such a kind and gracious fellow (“dude”). I had a friend who worked on the short-lived Fran Drescher Show, and Hugh was a guest. There was some sort of meal that was had before or after taping, and my friend’s boss had her do the dishes for everyone afterward. Hugh Laurie insisted on helping my friend with the dishes (I don’t think they had even allowed her to share in the meal), and she was later chastised for his kindness and manners. Hard to figure why that show didn’t last... But Hugh marches on, and continues to be a wonderfully gracious man!

Every one deserves to be well cared for and covered during this time, Hugh. Even/And u. Great voice by the way. Thanks for singing to Him.

Hey, I live in Glasgow since we were not allowed to leave the house it's been sunny for a month, we are even getting wild fires now. The world has gone mad.

Pale blue, the color of a Scot's face? Such a pity, ahhh, the weather in spring and start of the summer in 🏴❤️

US here, hang tight..the insanity continues over here and most of the fires are in the White House. We’re all in this together! Glasgow was a beautiful visit for me, so I hope it’s still standing after all this!

I loved this conversation, especially at the very point where stephen knew it would turn emotional (hugh was flaring up and almost in tears) and they both turn it around in such a "organic" way. Just fun to watch them both!

Attending virtual birthday parties in real time are so much fun. So Hugh Laurie and Stephen Colbert good for you. Way better than showing up somewhere in person that starts looking and sounding like something else you didn't expect at all instead at what you expected to be a birthday party or whatever. Friendship on a 2 way street is way better than silence about the fact its someone's birthday for sure. So Happy Birthday Stephen Colbert from Canada.

We can, we just can't be talking to other Americans when we say it.

I have to stop myself sometimes from saying something like, "Bloody hell." I've read and watched way too many British books, shows, and movies, and it sort of rubs off on you after awhile. I think you have to have the accent though or it would just sound wrong.
