I'd really like to see your tools/methods because I've never heard a guitar of yours sound anything but amazing when it comes to tuning and proper resonant frequencies with 6 stringed chords. Cheers! @joesatchton2127 жыл бұрын
***** You SHOULD be proud of the weightloss...that's probably the hardest thing you have ever done in your life thus far :) Bea, quick gear question if you don't mind...I am no performer or actual musician so all of this will be overkill, though I have been playing for decades and sound occasionally OK - at least people don't cover their ears when I play. My plan is to simplify. I targeted the HK stuff because I wanted a neutral amp platform with which I could plug effects into. So I plan my signal chain to go AX-8, HK GM40Deluxe, then done. Sure, I might add in a dirt pedal like the JHS AT and of course will add a wah/volume. How do you think this HK will work with the AX8? I know the GM Deluxe may be redundant with the onboard effects, but the well-reviewed improved RedBox on the Deluxe seems to make more sense than getting older HK versions with no onboard effects... Anyway man, best again to you and everyone. I look forward to visiting Anderton's on my next visit to the UK and would love to shake all your hands :D cheers!

Nice job Rabea! I was on the path of building my first pedal board. Since I need a silent solution I was looking at the Red box / Torpedo / Radial JDX Direct drive. Then I watched your demo at HnK headquarters. When I saw your reaction I knew the GMDeluxe 40 was the one. It was the comment about "Yeah ... all that program stuff is good but it's the sound..." This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Hughes and Kettner for building my perfect amp and Rebea for helping me make a decision. Dave PS. Lookin' good Bea

or you could just use it like you would use any other amp and see how affordable the amp is for a tube amp which gets super loud, and also goes silent as well. it's expensive but not when compared to the tube amp market. and you can also come close to any amp of your choice with this amp. I can say that because I own the amp. The only disadvantage of the amp is that every time you plug into it, you tend to sound different every time. Or maybe it's just me.

GREAT playing and explanation of the features. I am now VERY interested in this uber-versatile amp, so many thanks! _(No more amps... No more amps... )_ That said, you mentioned that the Noise Gate is memorized as part of each patch -which I would expect- but the iPad app merely looks to show an ON/OFF button for the gate but then no knob to set it. So... is it actually programable and, if so, how does one do then ALSO adjust within the app? TIA!
@larryh.31734 жыл бұрын
Note to self: Look stuff up in online manuals! Not sure I like the answer (IMO, per _patch_ would be preferable), but here 'tis from the GM Deluxe 40 manual... “Heads Up: The Sensitivity knob’s setting applies to all presets that incorporate the noise gate. This is convenient and intentional: if conditions on stage are different than in the rehearsal room, you can adjust the noise gate’s response for all presets with one simple tweak. Tip: 12 o’clock is the universal setting. It you wish to use the noise gate as a stylistic device when playing fast staccato riffs at high gain levels, then dial in a setting towards the Hard end of the control range.”

L O It’s a great amp, to be honest, I won't change a thing about this amp, but it took me a while to get used to it because of its unlimited tones. This amp is not just an amp, it's a freakin tube plugin! but I highly advise one gets the wifi midi adapter especially if you can't really understand how to use it at first or if you find it stressful to set up all 4 channels and effects. but this is not necessary as well.
