There is on every good review channel. There's a youtuber who actually sold his wacom after getting huion. He said there is no justifiable difference in equality anymore. Only these YT commenters like the guy above me try to hold onto "wacom supremacy" even though they have never used wacom and huion products side by side. They're as braindead as the people claiming android is "slow and laggy", they never moved past early 2000's.

Have you tested how usable the touch is with the smudge tool? I mean, in some apps (foe example CSP) it's possible to configure single touch to another tool, so one can draw lines with stylus and then smudge (or erase or fill or whatever was selected as finger function) with finger. Very natural & efficient work flow.

Great review as always. I've been looking at this tablet and the 27 pro as well, but I currently have the 24 pro 4k version and as much as I like new tech these new models don't appear to be enough of an upgrade to warrant the expense. I don't want to go smaller as I am now used to the 24 inch size. What are your thoughts on that subject? I would love your opinion. Thanks again for your informative and concise reviews.

How did you find the upgrade from a smaller surface to the 24” ? I have a 16” and would like more realestate and wondering if I should spring for a 24” or eventually wait for a 27” (which is huge) ? Obviously funding might be an issue for the 27” !! I have a Macbook pro M1 and would use the trackpad for moving and rotating the canvas.
@PrinterMan19564 күн бұрын
@@GodzillaGoesGaga I honestly find the 24 inch to be massive. The 4k display is nice but the interface can be a littel tough to read in ares. I'm old. Mainly Windows dialogs as the interface in Krita at least can be adjusted. I looked at stepping down to the 19 inch but now think it's too small. :) 27 inch??? May be just a tad too big for my desk. For me the ideal size would be a 2k 22 inch model. But that's just my personal opinion.

Great review as always, appreciate how thorough and detailed you get in the drawing experience including the issues you only get to know about when you use something for some time (like the touch issues, something popping out from the side, all those things). Regarding the matte display sharpness, how would you compare it to similarly priced or similarly sized competitors? For example, does a Cintiq's matte display show text/details sharper, or would you say it's the same/similar? Since all etched glass is basically the same, I don't expect there to be a difference but since you didn't mention it, I wonder if perhaps there is a difference. I only have an older Cintiq 16 HD which has no etched glass, but has the matte film that is applied from the factory and since it's not 4K either, it's really hard to compare. 4K is already sharper, yet the etched glass will smudge the details and I guess only you who has experience with many different displays can give valuable insights.
@teohontech71416 ай бұрын
Actually there are subtle difference between quality of matte glass from different companies. And it is difficult for me to remember the exact quality unless I can have a side by side comparison. And I usually do not keep review units that long. Having said that, the softness on this display is more noticeable compared to others I have tested. I have not used Wacom Cintiq for a long time so I can’t remember. But the colour noise/grain/sparkle is minimal. There is always a tradeoff with amount of texture vs image quality (grain, sharpness, colour). And unfortunately, these are very difficult to show accurately even with a video review The better matte glass currently are actually on the tablets. Eg Huion Kamvas Studio 16, iPad Pro with nano texture glass, Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte. More specifically, the Apple and Huawei versions are almost similar to the typical matte LCD monitor surfaces. After I have see Huawei’s version, which they do not charge extra for unlike Apple, I think and hope this will be used by more manufacturers in the future. The technology for good quality matte glass is already here, so it takes time to have more products use it. Personally, I probably prefer more sharpness and don’t mind some colour noise/grain
@emar7796 ай бұрын
@@teohontech7141 Dang, it so hard if there's nothing one can sample haha. I live out in the middle of nowhere so there's nothing I can "test drive" regarding the Kamvas 19. I see that you've found the smaller new tablets to have better surfacing compared to these larger displays. If we ignore that for a second (since that's the obvious answer to making the displays better), would you rather prefer to have these displays have no etching and just give a choice to apply film (from factory or DIY)? Having said that, I did not too long ago read about some other glass etching techniques in some industrial contexts that offered much better sharpness and texture, so that's another "answer" to the problem, but I doubt the companies will go after that and would instead find offering a film separately as a more cost effective option.
@emar779Ай бұрын
@@teohontech7141 OK so I went for it and I'm pleasantly surprised that I personally don't notice any softness at all. At 100% scaling it's too small, so I checked all the way up to 175% which I am using and it's all very nice for me, so that's cool.

Hi Teoh. Thanks for your great reviews. I need to buy my first pen display after working professionally only using my iPad connected to my iMac with an app for over 10 years! I've only reviewed the Huion Artist Pro 24 (4K). Drawing performance and colours are quite similar. @PekkaSalonen7 ай бұрын
There's writing arond 39 minutes. Seems usable at that size. But doesn't the latency depend a lot on both drawing app (its drawing engine efficiency & undo stack etc) and quite a lot on the speed of the computer in use? Teoh, what are the specs on this PC?
@teohontech71417 ай бұрын
@@PekkaSalonen Generally speaking, the writing experience with pen displays is not as good as portable tablets. E.g. Samsung Tab S8, S9 pen latency is 2.8ms but usually much higher for drawing apps. Latency for pen displays is usually around 15ms so it's definitely more noticeable. If you have to write often and a lot, the 15ms latency will affect experience. For min 39, I'm just writing a few letters so looks and feels alright. My laptop is the Huawei Matebook D16 with Intel Core i5-12450H.

Too bad all these pen still sukks. They are responsive, but too light and cheap feeling. Still too slipery despite some units using paper like screen protectors. Always feel like wearing a condom. Apple pencil is the best IMO. Pencil has weight to it, the tip is rubbery and has grip so you can dig into your lines without slipping.
@lesnacke5 ай бұрын
apple pencil weight is good but balance kinda sucks imo, too back heavy. what these guys should be doing is copy wacom pro pen 3, thin front with longer nib to not obscure the line, customisable grips and weight balance. not saying the wacom is perfect, the holder sucks ass but the whole 2 pens in a case that the competitor brands are doing just seems like a waste of space and money, like you're paying for that extra pen...
