Horses are the way they are because of human selective breeding. The original wild horses, evolved on the Eurasian steppe, were a lot shorter and stockier. Horses being fucked up is our fault.

@@owiebrainhurts so basically pure pee is toxic acid, and your body has to dilute it so it doesn't burn a hole in you. it's a horrible mix of toxins from the carbs we are constantly burning, and the random poisonous things we accidentally or deliberately eat (alcohol, cacao, cyanide, radioactive isotopes, alkaline metals, HCL, CO, glycoalkaloids in potatoes, cyanide-generating compounds in bitter apricot seeds and bamboo shoots, enzyme inhibitors and lectins in soya beans, green beans and other legumes, and much much more).

human anatomy sucks, BONUS ROUND! TEETH! - can just rot to high hell and not even warn you until you suddenly have half a tooth missing - the nerves of the jaw are connected to like everything else in the face and tooth pain can travel up the nerves and become pain elsewhere, eg a headache - extremely vulnerable yet permanent structure - like to hurt for no reason - very readily infected despite being the most readily infectible region i hate teeth

Lemme add to the lore real quick : Maybe it was starvation induced? At a time of famine? So those seeing the reflectionless monsters and those becoming anaemic or malnourished....were often enough the same people? And either because in this time of distress they turned to prayer, or because the clergy wanted to explain it as ungodly in some form (reference : the people who used divine punishment or divine selection to explain covid)...vampires also became exorcisable with religious symbols?

We look at bugs and the way their limbs just fall off or their parts get crushed but never realize that we really are just like them for real, because we feel like our sentience makes us anything more than a tiny figment of brief self-awareness in an indifferent universe governed by entropy. We are no different from the germs on our own hands which we wipe away with alcohol or soap with equal indifference - except for the awareness of our demise that we call consciousness.

possible explaination for each feature (in my limited knowledge): 1: since milk was once inteded for only young mammals, the human body has not evolved to produce lactase to digest them for adults (basically since evolution is still slower than our progress) 2: the appendix actually has a function to help with the immune system, so removing it can mean an increase in health problems such as diarrhea 3: the spine simply has much more weight on it in humans than other mammals as they have to work against gravity, which means it is more likely to have problems. I think that is just a problem mainly bipedal animals have (which is an especial problem when it is an important part of the central nervous system) 4: making a baby is extremely resource intensive, so the body may have developed very extreme measures which may have cause all of those effects (your aincent ancestors does not have text after all) 5: pee keeps you alive as what was ejected with the pee can make you dead, so peeing is the true detox 6: the nervous system needs a lot of editing to make sure you can see clearly (2 eyes, remove the blockage of the nose and add to blind spots), since your mind is kinda like software, bugs can happen sometimes. 7:muscles are not completely perfect 8:the toe has a lot of nerves to keep your balance for walking, so it can hurt a lot since they can sense pain as well 9: this is crap design, your dumbass body temperature homeostasis does not realize it's just cold food

Do this experiment: Hold your finger to your cheek, the proximity your nose would be - Look that direction. Your finger is in the way. Now, place your finger where your nose is and look that direction. Finger kinda disappears hey? ...My brain seems to create an area of less definition and recognition where my nose would feature in the line of sight. My finger is hi def when placed on my cheek, but on my nose, it just turns into the same lo-def "almost not there" as my nose ordinarily is. 👽

human bodies are so odd. we have glass bones and paper skin and instantly die if we fall over without properly catching ourselves in return, we have a 20 in INT (intelligence)... and then some people just get a natural debuff to that also...asthma (which i do NOT have but it exists). it's literally a debuff for *breathing*. why?! and then there's the fact that our bodies will forcefully overheat to kill viruses and sickness...which can also kill you. *sigh* let me reroll our bodies dammit we need better functioning

can we also talk about how unbalanced walking on 2 legs is? it sucks. how easy is it to knock over a human? if you catch them off guard, incredibly! how easy is it to knock over a dog that’s half your body weight? difficult! they have more support with four legs! what’s more is that if humans lose a leg, you’re essentially screwed without prosthetics. if a dog loses a leg, it’s like “oh that sucks” and keeps living as normal!!! we don’t do that!!!!

The brain is an inconceivable trickster. One morning, I was thinking about something related to parenthood when I heard a child's voice yell "DAD!" nine times. I knew my brain was making it up, but it was some of the most realistic yelling I've ever heard, voice cracks and all. I could even tell you which direction I perceived it coming from. And that's of course only one example of my brain making up things I struggled to tell apart from reality. Bleh.
