The 7500 lbs rating has nothing to do with efficiency. Power is obviously also not the limiting factor. It is most likely handling and stability, cooling, or braking performance. The tall soft suspension and tires hurt handling and stability. The weight of the truck itself hurts braking. Having to move all of that weight and huge tires requires a massive amount of battery cooling which it must be able to handle in up to desert conditions. Read up about the SAE J2807 towing standard.

Though for the most part it looks like you are correct. The manufacturer can set its tow limit lower than what the SAE J2807 would set it at. It is plausible that the Hummer is set lower to preserve range (not Efficiency).

I love the way this thing tows. Couldn't see a dually 1 ton doing this well without 4 wheel steering. Don't see a single time he had to shift into reverse.

My OEM 50 amp 220volt home charger charges at 9-11 mile per hour. So 24hrs is 250-260 miles. But the 350amp chargers at almost any Wal Mart Supercenters will charge its full in 20 min. Non-towing range is 340miles and while towing... 125-200 miles depending on trailer size and weight.

My Chargepoint Flex charger will charge at 36 miles per Hour with a 60 amp Circuit Breaker.

Not Towing people are seeing nearly 400 miles with a full charge(not 80%). Towing the max weight of 7500 pounds gets you about 140-150 mph at nearly 75 mph.

Yea. It'll tow a Shit Ton. For about 5 miles, then take 4 days to recharge, unless it blows up or catches fire! (exagerated) But you get the idea!

I enjoy your channel and love your boats, but the electric humv is a bust. Hard for me to understand there is a place in the universe for something that expensive (even for those that can afford them) that can only tow something across town. My thoughts may be skewed because I have to be able to go across the country. I have yet to find the value of any electric vehicle with the available charging stations and some states saying you can only charge at certain times; and not today!

have fun replacing the battery if it makes it to out of warrenty . the pack on the hummer is huge . a tesla large pack can cost $25,000 to replace . its all good until warrenty expires . watch the fast lane truck and car testing channel . hovies garage has done thr lightning tests and range is gone when loaded and you hit hills or bad weather . ev are for rich people who dont run on time vs money life . i dont hate ev its the battery tech and infrastructure that cant handle it .

Are you dumb? The 212kw is equivalent to 6 gallons of gas! You litterly can go 380miles on a charge for 6 gals of gas. And people talking about batteries really don't understand how long they last. I have used my 2017 hybrid for 409,000 miles and never replaced the battery or breaks! So the saving on the environment and my pocket is well worth it! Not including carbon footprint is a joke anyway! Lol

whatever excuses you want to come up with, at the end of the day, the Hummer EV is nothing more than a LIFESTYLE vehicle, nothing more, nothing less. The only real redeeming quality is this juggernaut doesn't use gas, it's a cool car, but beyond that, it's not what you would call a jack of all trades just like the H2 wasn't, it's a toy, just like the boat and jetskis. period.
