Hi all, just wanted to pop in my experience with my Stoeger M3000 that I've had for 8-9 years: The feel of the gun for the price is VERY nice, it's knocked down more birds than any gun by a mile for me. My warnings to prospective buyers is that the charging handle can be tricky and when taking the gun apart the charging handle can be somewhat loose after being reset and lead to losing it in the field while hunting (had this happen), it's also plastic and could get brittle in really cold weather. Other than that the mechanics of the gun have worked well, over the last 3 years I've had about 3 *clicks* when I pull the trigger, I can chalk at least one of these to a bad shell from Winchester, but the others concerned me and I HOPE it was just due to the gun being a bit dirtier than I would like and a good cleaning would've solved these. The blueing near the muzzle has also started to get some wear and rusting BUT that's likely because I have been hunting salt water marshes. Overall, for the money I have no complaints it has served me well, but I definitely go through a lot more ammo hahah.

I have the waterfowl edition m3500. It’s a great gun I’ve had it for around 4-5 years I’ve shot it in all different conditions and places. From trap competitions to duck marshes I love it . Great feel. My only gripe is lately it’s been really picky with shells
@BDKennels8 жыл бұрын
I've been running my 3500 in 3 Gun for 2 years now with zero issues. I put on a plus 6 tube and have just shot the heck out of the thing. As a result I bought my wife a 3000 for her competition gun. I'll probably buy an M3K but mostly because of the small weight loss and it will run softer shooting 2 3/4 shells. All in all I recommend either the 3500 or 3000 without reservations. It simply cannot be beat, especially at the price.

I bought a Stoeger M 3500 a couple months ago and have only been running two and three-quarter shelves through it after a couple of boxes of running two and three-quarter shells I have yet to experience a cycling problem. A little heads up, tip if you are planning to change the magazine to an extended tube magazine be prepared to have to rest of the spring inside the magazine back into the magazine LOL I made the mistake of taking my magazine off when I first got my shotgun to clean it and let me just say it took about 45 minutes of wrestling to get it back in

Love my 3500 in max 4 26in. Been looking at the new ones. Love that Mag well! After this last duck season and the guys I hunt with playing with mine they both went and bought one this week. One of them traded his a300 in on it. I'm digging the extended controls on the waterfowl edition. The turkey choke and long beard xr had me thanking God the receiver was drilled and tapped for a red dot or scope. Red dot rides on mine during turkey season. Mine has had several tough seasons. Something to thank about if your use to shooting a flat rib gun and go to a raised rib might throw you off just a little. Cant speak highly enough of mine. I put a champion speed bead sight on mine. The smaller diameter one. I've just always loved those, cant see the beat if your head isn't down and it pops just enough in low light for reference but not so bright you cant see around it. Also there's a guy on here that put some rubber traction tape on his m3500. After seeing his video I had to do the same. I've gotten so many comments on how good it makes my gun look and I love the extra grip it adds have a dove, duck, and 2 Turkey season with mine it all the rain snow dunked in the water and it's still holding great, and I've got plenty more for future and buddies guns. Put a Carlson cremator LR in mine for duck season shot some patterns with a few different shells, basically all the pattern is inside a 30in circle at 40 yards. Worked great for the late season pass shooting ducks. I have some of the pictures on my Instagram. Just a tip use your old left over Christmas wrapping paper and a pallet for testing patterns. Leave the roll on the ground, pull up a target, shoot, cut off and repeat. Just some information I wanted to share. Hopefully it helps someone.

Hi Blake, thanks so much for this comment. Very helpful. This is probably the gun I am going to get. How much should I pay for this gun at the local gun store in California so I don't get ripped off.
@blakebarnett50784 жыл бұрын
@@CE-vd2px I dont know in California. I'm in Kentucky. Here at a local shop they are 550 out the door and the new waterfowl edition is 650 if I remember correctly. 700 is probably the normal price at academy or the big stores. We have a local shop that will order anything you want and just charges 50 dollars over his cost. I found mine used for 400. Guy bought it as a backup gun to his super black eagle and had only ran a couple boxes through it. Anytime your buying a used gun make sure you can unscrew the choke. I always anti seize mine so they don't rust and get stuck in the barrel. And with the bolt on these make sure when you close the bolt you let it slam. The bolt face rotates to lock into place and shutting it real easy, trying to be quiet. It wont rotate into position. When I first got the gun I learned that the hard way, missing a couple of shot opportunities. If you get a new one break it down and clean it good it's full of packing grease especially the spring under the forearm over the magazine tube. I lube mine in rem oil. Takes about 200 rounds of duck loads to get it to where it will shoot 1 1/8th oz 3dram loads. Mine doesn't like to cycle the Winchester universals very reliably but does the federals with a hang up of about 3 in 200 shells. 1 1/4 oz light loads are not a problem. I left the bolt locked back for several months, or when not in use to help weaken the spring a little for the light loads too. I know that's alot of info. I'm no expert just a few things I've learned with them. If you have anymore questions just give me a shout. Good luck in whatever you decide to pick up this year. Hold em all in your price range.
@CE-vd2px4 жыл бұрын
Right on! I believe the Carslon you mentioned is the full choke that is Billy's favorite. Does that add 2inches to the barrel? Im going for the 26in because it seems like i can move it around better and that honestly a 2in longer barrel doesnt really matter unless you have a high skill level. With the 26in I can use an extended choke to go to 28in if it really bothers me so much. Is buying used a bad idea? I love used things but a gun seems like a sketchy item to buy from Craigslist.
@blakebarnett50784 жыл бұрын
@@CE-vd2px it does add a little I'm not sure that its quite 2in but close. Its and extended choke. I was worried I would want a 28in barrel after buying the 26in, during goose season, so I got a 2in barrel extension. It screws in just like a choke it's just open and the put the choke in that, but the pattern was far better out of just the regular 26 inches with the extended chokes in duck loads and turkey. I prefer extended chokes just for ease of use. But I only change them twice a year. Me personally I prefer a 26. Like you said easier to swing and move around. I do alot of turkey hunting and ideal is a 24in in the Turkey woods. It's a fairly heavy gun compared to others on the market but it being heavy and then add the recoil reducer in the stock and you can handle those 3.5 in magnums alot better when needed.The new waterfowl edition only comes in a 28in. I love the opened up mag well on those. But the bottom land camo is pretty awesome as well. It's all user preference. Me I prefer a 26in. If your use to a flat ribbed shotgun like a mossberg this will take just a little getting use to being a raised rib gun. Buying used can be tricky there is the possibility of buying a gun that wont cycle like it should. If you could meet and shoot it that would be preferred. Make sure it cycles several steel shot duck loads and mabey some 1 1/4 oz loads. Also just look for any serious wear on the bolt or reciever and the ejector. Mabey meet at a local gun shop have them look at it and see what they say. Just some ideas. There is the potential to save 100 or 2 buying a gun only to have to send it to the manufacturer and spend a couple hundred. My rule of thumb if it looks like it's been used as the tool that a firearm is you may want to pass that one by, especially a shotgun. If you see just a couple little scratches from mabey a weekend shooting Clay's on a tailgate that's your gun. People aren't as honest as they once were sadly. Any tool has a life expectancy, just depends on how it was used and how often.

Having the return spring in front around the magazine tube is better as it pulls the bolt into battery, meaning no Benelli out-of-battery "click". And no spring in the butt to take on water and rust the spring inside in the Benelli designed Super Black Eagle series.

That's the nice thing about those Turk guns, they understand that some people want to use 3.5" inch shells. A lot of the Chinese guns only do 2 3/4", which I get if it is a reproduction 1887 or 1897, but even a lot of the modern semi-autos only go 2 3/4". The Turkish shotguns also have a very good price point for the quality. Also are you ever going to do the JW-25?

My friend, everyone has their own personal preferences in Home Defense. If a 12 Gauge is chambered for 3-1/2" Shells then I'll shoot 3-1/2" Cartridges of Slugs and Buck Shot. If a 12 Gauge is chambered for 3" Shells then I'll shoot 3" Cartridges of Slugs and Buck Shot. I can tolerate Nitro Magnum Loads and Magnum Loads thanks to aftermarket parts, since I do spend the extra cash unlike others who don't. 2-3/4" IS NOT ENOUGH FOR ME. For 2-3/4" I rather shoot my Mossberg Shockwave 20 Gauge with Aguila #2 Buck and call it a day. Guess I"ll purchase the M3500 with the 24" Variant and find out the Magazine Capacity of 3-1/2" Shells before I purchase a Nordic Comp Extension Tube. Have a nice week.

An important tip for ghost-loading: when loading the last shell on the lifter, be sure to push the shell all the way back on the lifter before releasing the bolt. If the shell is too far forward, it will press against the inside. This will hang up the lifter and could cause a malfunction. If it does hang up, carefully push the lifter up and it will feed the next round This was with 2 3/4 shells. I am not sure what will happen with larger ones.

How is it cheaper with spring on the outside????
@Huntinggearguy6 жыл бұрын
Running the recoil spring under the forend is easy, but it makes for a fatter forend. Running the recoil spring in the stock with a moves that assembly to the back, but now you need a tail on your bolt to act against the recoil spring, plus you need to capture the recoil spring and a plug in a tube.

@nialljamesbuckley7 жыл бұрын
yes, that's normal. See page 13 of your manual. If you don't fire the gun, there is no inertia other than what you create. The spring between the locking head and the bolt becomes compressed when you fire and recoils which cycles the bolt, ejects the spent cartridge and chambers the next one.

I dont remember getting the weaver rail...
@jamesscott40666 жыл бұрын
Tapped for rail but not included.
@FORDEVR6 жыл бұрын
In the earlier years the rail was included. Then they stopped including it but if you phoned them they would send you one. However they no longer will ship you one. The rail needed is a weaver 93a The weaver 93 will not work. In Edmonton I found them at Western Gun Parts”

I mean, it's an inertia-driven shotgun that does up to heavy 3.5" goose loads. It's not yet possible to design an inertia shotgun that works with everything from 7/8 light target to 3.5" 1 1/2oz goose killers. If you're using target loads, use the 1 1/8oz stuff at minimum.

It cycled up until I did it’s first cleaning. I followed manufacturers instructions but still no luck. It cycled heavier loads but 1 1/8 and lower was a no. I sent it back to Stoeger to check it out

krusty krab didn’t you break it in with 100-200 3 1/2” shells like the manufacturer says?
@nyiayaj5 жыл бұрын
You have to break in the gun, shoot some heavy loads the first 100-200 rounds. Mine cycles everything and I have the recoil reducer in the butt stock
