I lived there. That whole river and pole you see took out the asheville tea company building. The river was much smaller and where the road dog park was and the tanks were from all the way down Thompson St. There was also a large dog shelter nearby but they were able to get all the dogs evacuated to safety. The apartment is river mill lofts and they lost all their paperwork and have been abysmal to work with through this process.

I live in southern Louisiana. Evacuating cost money. Getting the fuel for cars generators can cost up to 300 dollars easy. When traveling. Not to mention hotel rooms which can be hundreds of dollars a night. Plus buying the flash lights, batteries , non perishable foods. Shelters get full fast. Not everyone can leave, so they stay. Very costly. Especially if u getting hit by multiple storms. Go into credit card debt very easy
