Tons of work left to do, but a massive amount has been cleaned up since the flood. So many folks putting in some much work to make it happen.

Oh wow it breaks my heart when I see Erwin I will never forget the 11 workers from the factory who were swept away in the flood, that day will never be forgotton. Outstanding drone footage yes much clearing up done but Erwin changed forever now. The music that accompanies your video is so haunting but beautiful too. Thank you, God bless everyone in Erwin. ❤🙏🏻😢

I'm just hoping Cadaver Dogs have been thru those piles of debris, because we have so many missing people, and those family members who are left, can't collect on life insurance until their loved ones are found... Most homeowners insurance is not paying because they say the people didn't have flood insurance.... The only way for many to rebuild their lives is thru life insurance. However, in NC the State is burning the piles before looking for the missing people. It's criminal...

Thank goodness for drones. From filming birds eye views, to peering thru buildings, looking thru vehicle windows and woods for victims, to delivering medicine, food and baby supplies to Appalachian mountain residents, to acting as satellites for improving communication into valleys and gorges when cell towers down. An amazing tool.

And a big thank goodness to mute buttons. This drone eye view is worth a thousand words. It's hard to imagine the scope of damage without this. Thank You.

Thank you for your time and energy delivering these eye opening videos. So much to do. I don't see any FEMA trucks or portable living spaces. FEMA is mia.

For all those who are grieving for those who are lost and not found we pray for peace. For those who are homeless and struggling to survive we will continue to support and fight for them. 💔

Awesome work with this drone video. A lot of your angles show the extent of the enormity of that water as it came raging down through there. I can't imagine the horrors that it unleashed.

One thing is certai, between TN and NC, heavy equipment workers and machinery will be kept busy for years cleaning up the disaster areas and rebuilding bridges, roads and infrastructure.

Hey man, always glad to see more videos of your ongoing coverage of this mess, I forgot to ask you if you ever got the chance to drive into Lost Cove as I was watching ( Chronicles of Olivia ) as she was talking with a sweet lady there whom lived in the cove and was giving her story which had me in tears the more they talked about the flooding the worse it got, and the awesome work from a guy named Jake Jarvis, if I remember correctly as he is doing tons of clean up with his heavy equipment out of the goodness of his heart, and I also watched some guy named ( Frostin' Austin ) who was doing a road trip in the area where it was hit hard too, seems like you were there on your bike in one video but there are lots more, but, as always I come back to yours as I feel like you are doing an excellent job of keeping us updated on the journey, as always, stay safe and sending big hugs from Arkansas, my heart hurts so much for everyone affected by this disaster.

I haven't made it into Lost Cove just yet, hoping to get in there in the next couple of weeks though. I'll have to look those guys up that you're talking about. Interested in seeing that, really appreciate ya watching and commenting. Means alot 🙏

Yes, Jake owns Precision Grading and has been volunteering his time, equipment and employees for almost 2 months now. They reside in Saludo, NC. The Appalachian Channel by John Ward has many videos of the work Jake and others have been doing. Also look for the title Helene Song, written by Rick Moreland which should be nominated for Country Music Award...or at least sung at the awards show.

It's so unbelievable to me that the river rose so high as to destroy that side of I26. And the destruction of all those businesses. I've not seen it this up close before and it's just beyond comprehension. I'm so sad for our mountain communities. I wonder if things will ever be the same. Thank you for doing these very important videos! I know the one hospital was devastated there in Erwin. Were the hospitals in Elizabethton also damaged? I know there is that Trauma Center etc on the way to JC. For some reason my mind can not remember when we took family to the airport on the 17th of Oct. They were surely ready to get out of here!
@Offroadviking14 сағат бұрын
@carriegarrisonvos4433 I don't believe the Hospital in Elizabethton received any damage. If it did I haven't heard of any but I could be wrong.

@carriegarrisonvos4433 The Med center in Johnson City is probably a little quicker to get to I would say...or around the same time. They also set up a 24 hour Urgent Care in Erwin to help with smaller medical issues.

It's hard to believe that area wasn't called a flood zone to begin with.. River floods the waters going to the low side.. They'll rebuild, and eventually, it'll happen again.....
@laurelbrennan629512 сағат бұрын
If you look closely on the other side of the highway....that side was also wiped out...just looking st the tree damage and not a bit of green...beige rock and occasional water is visible. Awful.

Look at all that wasted firewood. If some one came in and separated that would from that muck a lot of wood burners would have heat.

It's full of medical waste, possibly radioactive material, plastic resin including PVC and polyamide very toxic if burned and it was saturated with those chemicals for days.

All of that plastic pipe is good there's nothing wrong with it. It can be used to rebuild. Don't trash it. Don't throw it away use it. To rebuild. It would be a waste not to use it

It will take years of work to restore this area to what it was. Remember those German cities leveled during WW2, they rose again. So much building material that needs to be recycled to hide the scars.
