I'm genuinely horrified by the first story. He could have absolutely destroyed his wife's life with that police report. It's insane. Rather than just have the balls to dump his wife, he tried to set her up as an abuser. I hope that AP knows what she's getting into.

This! my partner is assigned male at birth (they identify as non binary but are male passing), they were abused by their ex and were never taken seriously by the police when they reported it, despite having evidence as to actual abuse. My ex tried this as a "joke." He broke one of our mattress springs and it cut him along the back of his leg. While at my work (I worked at a gas station at the time), a cop saw the slice and asked him if he was being abused. My ex said yeah, my wife did it. Luckily my co-worker on register was like, "No man, his wife is (my name), she works here." The cop knew me, because we offered cops and firefighters free coffee, so they were in all the time. “Sorry honey, i cheated on you and fell in love with the one I cheated on you with, instead of hurting you by getting a divorce I thought it would be better to ruin your life by filing sexual abuse charges. I just didn’t want to hurt you after all.” At least with a divorce she could have moved on, but at least she would have still had a job that didn’t have these BS reports against her. He claimed he cared for her but did this BS. What an egotistical self absorbed asshole. Hop OP sues him for mental abuse, pain and suffering, distress and slander. He deserves to pay her for what he put her through instead of growing a pair and file for divorce.

In what world is having your life completely ruined over nothing less painful than getting divorced because your partner caught feelings for someone else?? That guy is incredibly dangerous and I'm glad OP's going to make a clean getaway. Edit: actually she should file a police report that he tried to make false claims against her and maybe let her boss know. Story 1: (Based on original post) This feels like paper-trail falsification, as if the husband is trying to falsify create a pattern of her being 'abusive' towards him. That way when he does divorce, he can get away with paying as little as possible.(Which can go all the way to getting paid as 'compensation' for the 'abuse') Story 2: Envy, that is the word for what OP was feeling. Envy of what the guy was getting. Story 3: OP should get out, because this likely falls under the 'emotional/verbal' abuse category. Or if she's dead set against that at the ABSOLUTE LEAST the person he's "so in love with" needs to be warned about him. Yes, she's not exactly a good person here for having an affair with someone else's husband, but nobody, even a cheater, deserves to be subjected to abuse and manipulation like Op was. Story 3: Dump her, she's too immature and her nagging and crying isn't going to stop. Tell her the relationship is over and to have a nice life. Then, move on, you have enough things to think about. Life is too short to be unhappy all the time due to some one else in your life. You cant choose family, but you can choose friends and significant others. You can un-choose them too.

If I was first story's OP I would try to talk to ex's affair partner. Wether she knew he was married or not, she needs to know what she is getting into. A person who thinks doing that is ok instead of aproaching the issue directly is dangerous af.

1) It was an affair. I thought he was having some psychotic break, and needed to be admitted to a hospital. I still think he is mentally ill. 3) That is an abusive, and controlling relationship. She's also acting like a petulant child.

Story 1: People are too soft nowadays, most Reddit stories now have a person being the bigger person especially after they are wronged in the most horrible way, I would have gone with a vengeance that would hurt worse than hellfire.

The one with the food criticism...sounds like she has a raging eating disorder and is projecting and holding him to an unsustainable standard due to her own anxiety. LEAVE! you cannot always help others but you CAN choose not to set yourself on fire to upease someone's obsessive tendencies
