Just an observation, the oil filter has 4 steps on the side explaining how to change it. These can be clearly seen if you pause this video at 2:17. Step 2 states that you must fill the new filter to the base of the threads with new oil before installing it, something that has been totally omitted from this "instructional video". So, if you don't pre-prime the filter, you will run the motor dry for a couple of seconds on the first start up until the new filter fills up, once it has, you're gonna want to check that oil level again. Or you could just follow the engine manufacturers instructions properly!

I cannot find what oil filter to use anywhere... its not in the manual on your website.. only oil type is listed.

My YTH23V42 definitely didn't come with an oil drain tube. Also, the manual says to change the oil (no filter replacement) every 25 hours and change the oil and the filter every 50 hours. This video says to do it every 50 hours.

It would do no harm to change the oil and filter together, and also fill the new oil filter with oil rather than fit it empty . An empty filter will create premature engine wear when the mower is started up .

For those that have changed the oil on a YTH 22Y46 with a B&S YG 46538, how much oil did it require? Nowhere in my manual does it give oil quantity and I don't want a bunch of oil sitting around that I only use for this this thing. Thanks

Looks like counter-clockwise to me. It's upside down, so you have to imagine the clock facing down and you're looking up at it.

Funny thing, if you are looking UP at the nut which is being loosened, you will see that the wrench is moving counterclockwise. At least it looks that way to me.

Our tractor ,when engaging the blades, causes the amp meter to go way down, draining the power from the battery. Please let me know the way to solve this problem.

I really miss a simple drawing or video of how to replace the belt drive. There are numerous ways of mounting it wrongly. Have contacted 2 companies, one of which I bought my tractor from, and none have given good answers. One thinks I should drive to their factory and they will show me.

I have the fast tractor YTH24V48. I've charged its battery 6 amp for 1.5 hours and still won't start. Can anybody tell me how it's still not starting? Needs oil change perhaps?

the kohler courage engines in these machines are garbage, i say this because you need a lot of courage to buy one of these ticking timebombs, i have seen customers of ours at least 5 of these engines that had the cams grenade (they are plastic) and take the engine with them, only get the more durable briggs ohv or the kohler command engines for long life and quality if you value your money, do go the el-cheapo route i can guarantee you will regret your decision.

My grandfather bought a LT151 i 2017. This has a Kohler engine. No trouble. Changed the oil every year. Used on average 2 hours a week.

You're right chris those courage engines are crap. I bought a husqvarna that had leaked/burned oil all over the engine compartment, the compression relief mechanism was failing and then upon fixing that realized the engine had a crack in it. This new looking husqvarna was only used for a average house with a 80 year old guy owner/driving so its a good chance that he probably didnt beat the crap out of it like I would and only 400 hours on it, engines should last alot longer than that despite what some think. Had a kohler courage 20 in it, unbolted it one night took it out swapped it with a 15.5 hp Briggs ohv no oil leak runs perfect and has no lack of power cutting 5 foot high stuff with brand new blades. I also had another kohler courage on and mtd yard machine that leaked/burned oil. The kohler command is a better engine I believe but the courages are garbage.

@@shiloh-onecallidoitall8886 I just bought a used LGT2654. They said it had a tiny leak but that the only had to add oil at the beginning of the season and it was still running well. I'm an idiot and learning folks aren't honest and oil leaks are never tiny. Took 2 swipes on the grass and it's died on me each swipe. The 3rd time it backfired and I couldn't get it to start again. I replaced the battery yesterday when I couldn't get it to start and Autozone said it had 100% charge but the core was bad. I checked the blades and they look like children's safety scissors they're so rounded. So yay...need to replace them also...and they were supposed to be a new set. I'm thinking I'll need to swap an engine out also as that leak is pouring out. Any chance you did a video on how to do it? My husband did all our mechanical work so I'm learning how since he passed and could use some how to tips. Thanks!

this is the worst mower i have ever owned, have had it 3 years and its falling apart piece by piece. i am 65 yrs old and have had many riding mowers. i mean this thing has parts breaking every where the deck is about useless now, have replaced, drive belt twice, deck belt 3 times, spindles, the clutch is getting ready to go. i owned a cheap Murray for 7 years never had a problem other than normal maint. sold it for half of what i paid after all that time. i wish there were a way to sue these jack asses and make them pay, by the time i have replaced all the stuff wrong, i could have bought a new mower. i how the top brass at this corporation is enjoying his nice summer house, and nice cars on all the people they have rip off using cheap parts, sorry for the rant i am just so mad, and my wife and i being on fixed income its hard to even think about another mower. HUSQVARNA YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED HEARTLESS JERKS
