A whole-house air cleaner system like that, in a crawl space, isn’t likely to be serviced often by the homeowner - if at all.

A lot of people won't change the filter in a hallway filter grill. They for sure won't crawl under the house to service it. This one is on the installing contractor!

I totally agree. Trane makes excellent products, especially on the commercial side but those filters suck

The biggest gripe with that filter is when you clean it an it isnt 100 percent dry it’ll trip and say it’s dirty. I despise any electric filter tbh just cause of the fact most home owners are uncomfortable with cleaning ore replacing them and if they shock themselves they not gonna like you. Either a standard merv 8 or 5 inch pleated filter is good enough for the vast majority of applications and the home owner won’t get shocked or have to deal with the electronics

Vacuum the pre-filter. Use compressed air on the honeycomb. Use a piece of foam on the 'charger'.

seeing the pvc flue pipe ran into chimney, it probably continues up the chimney and out the top, with the chimney covered to keep debris and rodents out or I'd hope it's done properly that way! ** ahh at 8:33 yes, there it is!

We have one of those filters clean it every 5-6 months but we have standard filters before that filter. We live on 5 acres 80% dirt we kill paper filters every 3 weeks i can only imagine how often i would have to clean that filter if i dis not have paper filter before.

The EAC's work great if you have an easy accessible location like in a basement, not a crawlspace or attic. 👍🤪

I have had a cleaneffects air filter for quit a while now and the inside of my furnace is clean enough to eat off of, but the one's I see you service with standard filters, look very dirty inside, so they must work pretty well. What is Trane got planned to do with the cleaneffects air filters when they have a problem, now that they stopped making them and they don't seem to have parts for them anymore?

It's dumb when they put a serviceable air filter assembly in the crawl space where no one will ever want to go. At least the pleated 4" or 5" filters get replaced only once a year. But an electronic cleaner I think they require a lot more maintenance than that?

Yea I see maybe a 14 and a couple of 10’s at a minimum. I would more then likely go with a 16 and 2 tens. 100,000 Btuh input need 1500 CFM in my mind.

That filter set up is horrible, it should have been designed with the 5-inch media filter for ease of maintenance and less often because of the unfortunate location of the furnace. I much prefer a true mechanical room for the ease of maintenance and serviceablity. I recommend people not buy houses made with poor design.
