Incredible New Sabre Raven Sounds | Star Citizen 3.23.1 PTU

On the 3.23.1 PTU. CIG added a pleasant surprise for current Sabre Raven owners. A brand new gold standard Sabre Raven. The standard Sabre got its gold standard pass some time ago which left many wondering why the Raven never got a gold standard pass as well. Now finally we have the raven getting its pass along with its audio updated.
This also leaves up in the air what the new Aegis ship CIG has been teasing. From many promos images on social media it looks like the Raven but with a different paint scheme and minus the holes in the wings.

The boost audio sounds identical to the Gladius boost audio. I wonder if this is a deliberate design choice since both ships are from the same manufacturer. From the latest Monthly Report : _"Finally for Vehicle Audio, the devs introduced a very early state of manufacturer-based soundproofing - with this, each brand will have a unique soundproofing profile, heard when players are in first person, to further improve immersion. Love the immersion you put in yourself. Watching the canopy come down and then checking "control surfaces" or moving the stick before flight. Very cinamatic. Little hesitation on take-off though. 9.5/10.

Gorgeous! And finally enough bass to turn on the Buttkicker with Star Citizen ;) (It was never an intensity issue, more like we can now have the frequency cut-off point much lower so we get more 'correct' vibrations from engines and probably guns only.)

I miss the bright blue lighting. The lights seem dimmer now... or is it just me? Also the Blue retro thrusters were better. The trim and the holes thru the wings is now silver, instead of dark gray. More contrast, but a MUCH less Stealthy look. The new maneuvering thrusters look good, BUT we lost quite a bit of Blue, and the Dark Gray... which made it look seriously stealthy. :(

The new Aegis ship is effectively the Raven with a different name and for everybody so the ship isn’t locked behind a stupid graphics card sale. It makes complete sense, we shouldn’t have any ship inaccessible from in-game purchase long term, only rare items like flair and skins.

You know, if the audio for ships is loud enough and special for players on the ground, ships like this are gonna either be the sound of victory, or utter destruction and despair for players in bunkers, caves, etc. Imagine doing your thing on a moon or planet and you have a bounty on your head and you hear this thing in the distance. 😅

Raven has a proper gold pass on it now. So, updated audio, functional component housings for shields and coolers etc, pilot personal cargo, pilot weapon rack, updated vfx, and updated cockpit interior. It flies nice with the new flight model since it is an interceptor now. Fast acceleration and high top speed in a straight line. And with two EMPs, it is one of the strongest emp ships in the game right now.

By default, the EMP generators are off. In the power MFD page, you need to power on the two Tromag EMP generators. Once powered on, they are charged and fired with the secondary fire, default right click.

Hey Hybrid, great feature. How did you get the camera to move the way it did in the middle of the video where you did the loop. Default external cam is too stiff and follows the movement of vehicle. Your camera allowed the vicle to move around the screen a bit.

I use trackIR for head tracking, which also allows me to control the external camera too with my head.

I use two Virpil Constellation Alpha controllers (Dual sticks). But lately I've been dabbling with the VKB STECS throttle along with a single Virpil Alpha. Been enjoying both setups with the new flight model. Even so, with M&KB it still all comes down to practice. I recommend doing some of the Arena Commander races and try to improve your times as that is a great way to practice your flying skills.

The landing I'm giving an 8 of 10. There was some hesitation as if you couldn't decide which pad you wanted and then you weren't lined up on the pad when you landed. You did wait until just before touch down to extend your landing gear and that's what we like to see. ;) I hate you (Meaning I'm jealous) for having a Sabre Raven! It does sound incredible. I can't wait to see what the Firebird is at ILW.

@@GoldenSax Gotcha and I see why people wouldn't be happy but at the same time the variants are simple loadouts you buy dir3ctly as is. Unless that changes then we should be able to equip other said weapons but I know a lot of systems just got over hauled. So I could be wrong about just switching weapons but I agree they should make it available in game as a purchasable but they have a lot of things on their plate right now.All we can do is mention it.

Bring friends. The Raven is a support ship not a front line fighter. All you need is the ship to have its shields down and the two EMPs will knock it out. So stay in the back line in stealth and wait for opportunities to strike.

The Raven is still bound to a legal contract with Intel, but to skirt around that, they are dropping a variant on Aegis-day at ILW (Sabre Firebird/Phoenix) with potentially a QED insted of the EMP (a theory mostly based on the accent coloring from cig's teaser image).
