I can’t wait for our deer fence to go up so I can plant one of these!! I love love love all hydrangeas and those oak leaf hydrangea are beautiful!! Here in NC near Pinehurst we have heavy deer populations that eat plants I never thought they would!!!

I have one of these, and it's a beautiful plant needing almost no attention other than admiration. Flowers start cream, then get pink spots and turn bright pink and then mauve. Foliage turns red & burgundy tones in fall. Mine is in full sun, and gets some wind, too. Like a smaller version of the Snow Queen I had at the old house. 6b
