My net cups have a lot of the ribs cut out. I do that to lessen root damage during removal from the cup. I do this every year without issues.

I always just plant the net cup with whatever plant it is even if it’s one that has tons of air roots which actually helps to keep the net cup on it.

I would always buy pepper and tomato plant starts but it made me feel like I wasn't really a gardener so I finally tried starting my own this year inside in dirt and ended up with a fungus gnat infestation. I am so stoked to have found the kratky method. I saw people say I wouldn't be able to plant them out but your video proves them wrong. I think I will probably have more success because the starts I was buying would just be starting to fruit as winter arrived. I will be able to start the plants earlier and not worry about potting up. :)

Love it! It definitely feels great to take a plant all the way from seed to harvest. And you can always go buy starts if your seedlings fail. Soil (and bugs) indoors sucks though- best of luck starting them hydroponically! Definitely cleaner. Give the plants lots of time to transition into soil and then again to transition outside. It's not perfect but it's possible. I put all my plants outside in a dome, with some direct sunlight and they all got cooked in a few hours. Shade is your friend 😂

Now I’m interested to know how these plants do outside…!? Quite the journey to get some peppers! Hope you get lots of them!

Love it when I see videos like this 👍 dwc to soil- soil to aero, dwc to aero- dwc to aero to dwc to soil to aero It all WORkS !!!yes, there is some growth rate issues till roots rebound but the fact is clear air roots do in fact grow new laterals when no longer air bound and the plant is smart enough to grow more new roots from upper stem in compensation. Best advice, any water or aero to soil, plant them a bit deeper to allow this reality. Soil to aero / hydro , just lower the light , increase the phosphorus and give the roots a chance. Thank you for being a voice to the truth !

Thank you for this wisdom🤙 Will peppers harvest with just water? If so, Are you adding nutrients to the water? The universe, nature, the sun, the air, plants, flowers… all truly amazing! Abundance is all around us☀️🙏🏼☀️
@JimmyBHarvests2 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more, Freak! Abundance mindset- theres more than enough for us all to thrive! Growing the peppers in soil we can use plain water, when in hydro I was adding nutrients to their reservoirs
@mikewilson20522 жыл бұрын
Agreed. There's no way to get those roots out without damaging the plant. Also, your roots are green. Which means there performing photosynthesis, make sure you paint your water cups/tank White to reflect all the light.
@JimmyBHarvests2 жыл бұрын
Funny you should say that, Mike! These were grown in white jars and moves to transparent ones for the sake of photo/video aesthetics.. light leaks through the white paint. Go black if possible. And white on top of that if you're worried about heat

A lot of videos talk about magnets and some explain how it works to make them grow. One says to use a 2x2x1 magnet to face north or south which one side makes it better. and another tries a ring magnet feeling the roots need north and the plant needs south to help to.

That was a skunkbox cloner. I use it to propagate cuttings and it works pretty well. I demonstrate some of the results in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3K9hq2dhrKXla8

Why don't you keep them in the hydroponic setup ?
@Traceur172 Жыл бұрын
I have had peppers for over a year now in aerated jars and in my experience they just don't do well enough for how much I've invested in them. The peppers are usually small, and the plant grows so large it cannot hold itself up anymore because the roots don't have anything to hold onto.
@JimmyBHarvests Жыл бұрын
Because i cant make a video about that 😂 i had like 12 of these peppers, most of which i kept growing hydroponically.

If you planted the soil ones in at least a 1 gallon then they would have grown faster. Smaller space for soil plants stunts their growth.
