You are literally one of the best coaches I've ever come across, the info you provide and the way it's broken down is simply amazing

I couldn't agree more about keeping the volume of high intensity training down as it interferes with following training sessions, particularly for the older athlete. I have followed a training plan for a couple of months now and I feel there has been too much training at that higher intensity which has meant I've needed more days off for recovery. I have my first solo race this weekend but I definitely intend to dial in the intensity sessions during my next training block. Thanks for this, Steven! 😊

As a general rule - when the volume is high the intensity must be low and when the intensity is high the volume must be low. All the best this weekend in your race, I’d love to know how you go and if you need to talk about planning out your next training block happy to discuss with you. Just drop me an email 👊🏼

Thanks a lot for these tips! I’m 10 days out from my first ever Hyrox race - and was planning to do a Hyrox simulation with only 50% of the running volume the day after tomorrow. Do you think this could potentially hinder my performance on race day because it’s to close to the event? I have been sick last week so I don’t know if this would create to much stress in my body and nervous system…

It really does depend on what you have been doing and how good you can recover. Becuase you were sick last week it makes sense to get one big hard session in so try the simulation, you have plenty of time to recover, but also know that the fitness benefit now probably wont be much. However I would say - GO FOR IT and get confidence on that sim. Thanks for watching

Insane how a Hyrox affiliated gym doesn’t know shit about this. I am quitting at a Hyrox gym for that reason and doing my own thing at the gym with a good plan.

It's a shame that there are gyms and coaches out there not learning and applying this stuff for clients and athletes. Good coaches and gyms are always hard to find - keep up the training and hopefully my videos help! thanks for watching
