great vid.. good lighting and at slow pace for an amateur like me ....learnt alot ... but question : can the lower control arm go "bad " and the upper control arm be "OK " ? How do you test to see/know which is which . ie which one is actually the problem ??...or would you just change both ( Upper and lower control arms ) at the same time ??.... also can you do one wheel side and not the other wheel side ?? or would you just go ahead and do BOTH sides ,,?..also because you did not tamper with the tie rod , am assuming a wheel alignment is not necessary , am I correct ?

Not all cars have a upper control arm however if you inspect the rubber bushings and see cracks or excessive movements then it's time to replace. Wheel alignment is always necessary after any front end work.

Do you need to get an alignment after replacing the lower control arms or it’s not required?

You should NOT use a ratchet for a breaker-bar...you have lost your credibility.
