3️⃣ Since Venue is not available in the EU I can only say - I like the color. And I can imagine the feeling of the interior - it is probably similar to my experience when I jumped from CX-5 to Tucson. Tucson felt so cheap. 2️⃣ I do like the honesty of your reviews. Actually I watch almost all other channels at 1.5-2.0x speed. Not this one. 1️⃣ Top moment of this video is the sound @ 10:46 😂

Thanks for being honest in this review Paul. So many car reviewers skip over these problematic areas. Hope Hyundai learns from this, not only to improve the Venue, but particularly, the possibilities of the 'old 'Getz' segment, given there are still so many on the road. ps. I reckon Toyota (wih '21Yaris) has identified a segment where people (often with plenty of money) need a ultra-small 'local shopping etc type car like Picanto or Hy's i10 (not coming?) of which a crossover SUV micro version'd be also very welcome.

Paul. Thanks for your honest review. For all the GOOD things and SAFETY TECH BAD things about the Venue, surely Hyundai could import the i10. I know it's built in The Czechoslovak Republic (or somewhere in Eastern Europe) WHILST the Kia Picanto ISN'T (Sth Korea I believe?). If price is the issue (EU wages, Logistics etc), then it would still be cheaper than the average new Toyota Yaris. ps. On one of the last cruises in '20, PreCovid, saw many i10's in Vanuatu admittedly safety tech was probably NOT included.

Why are all crazy about soft materials? There is nothing wrong with "cheap plastics". It gives car a lower weight which is necessary both for good driving experience and consumption even if car crashes it's better. And heat in the car is reduced. I don't care about soft plastics meterials or whatever if car is reliable and fun to drive! And boot space is usually wrong in car specs. And reviewers usually make wrong review about boot space. Look here for example boot space is bigger than Mazda 3s but in Mazda 3 you can easily put in the big suitcase and here you are struggling. For example VW polo has 50liters bigger boot space than Mazda 2 but when you measure them, they are the same, depth, width maybe difference in half centimeters. Both in leg space. So yeah, I think people should look for reliability, driving experience, handling, practicality for DRIVER, consumption when buying a car. All other things are just bonus. But those thibgs sometimes are unnecessary and distracting and unusable.
@CarExpertAus
@CarExpertAus 4 жыл бұрын
The issue with cargo space is that some manufacturers measure to the top of the second row, while others measure to the ceiling of the car. Don't really agree on the plastic quality though - cheap plastics won't save weight, certainly not enough to make a difference in weight in the grand scheme of things. It's just an easy way to save money.

Sorry...not my experience with my 2023 Limited. The car is comfortable, reasonably peppy and got very good crash scores (lack of cyclist detection notwithstanding). That newer designed engine does NOT have direct injection so while down on power should be reliable. I honestly love mine and for the type and amount of driving I do at this point in my life (retired and 5k miles per year) it's perfect. Dude, stick to reviewing $40k plus cars that would "correct" the "issues" you have with this car.

Great review, telling it like it is! I don't mind the look (or that colour) but the big grill with all the wonderful bug catching slots annoys the poop out of me. Same with fake vents. Do car manufacturers never consider what it is like to actually clean their vehicles? Hard plastics inside are a funny one to me. On a top spec model I would expect better. However I don't even notice them once I am driving - until the heat/cold causes them to squeak/rattle! Yes, the engine should have some extra displacement. The marginal extra fuel usage would be offset by a more pleasant and engaging drive.

I was following one of these today, hence the reason for looking it up. Just next to it was a VW something, around the same width. What I noticed about the venue was that it is wide from wheel to wheel but the body tapers in inward toward the roof markedly, (Comapared to the VW which was more vertical), and cuts off about a third of its width. This made me think that if I was in this vehicle I would be banging my elbow constantly and the only reason I drive a large sedan is to avoid this....I just hate banging my right elbow all the time. Not sure how I would go in the same width VW I was comparing it to. I would go for a blue or a grey, but don't mind white. I hate red on a car because of my age and I don't like Chartreuse or acid yellow as they have called it either. There are some great colours on cars out there though but not all brands have them sadly.

Venue Elite. Sounds like it should have a bouncer checking a list! Some random thoughts from watching your video: Good to see Hyundai planning ahead with the grill and potential expansion of cooling capacity for when they put their 3.3 V6TT in there from the G70 Sport. Would be interesting to find out how much components like headlights cost. What drove the decision from Hyundai to put full LED rear lights on this car, but keep halogen for the headlights? Also, are the roof rails functional, or decorative? Nice review of the interior though, noticing that you do keep in mind the price point at which Hyundai has pitched this car. Plus the fact that Hyundai will include both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in their cheapest vehicle range really pokes holes in BMW's lack of support in this area (you know, because "reasons".). Your points about safety really highlight how independent @CarExpert is too. Keep up the good work! Last point for Hyundai's decision making process about getting 4 or 5 ANCAP stars - really highlights that there is some minimum threshold for those 5 stars, and that many carmakers will do the bare minimum to get the 5th star, just for marketing purposes. Probably time ANCAP was redesigned, and at least include the year the car achieved its rating. A 5 star rating from 7-8 years ago would not be the same as one for a 2020 car.

Disappointing no proximity start sensor. OMG, man up lady bug. God you would have died if you had to drive a 70s car with boiling hot vinyl seats in summer, rock hard steering wheel too hot to touch, steel belt buckles that burned you, column shift and the dreaded actual key needed to be inserted into the door to open it. Oh the dashboard is hard? It ain't a trampoline mate. What you want a soft one for? Seriously, that is some nitpicking right there. Biatching about using a key was where I stopped watching because clearly a reviewer who whines about an actual key isn't providing a legit review and probably dreads getting dragged away from their soy decaf latte to review a car that doesn't have luxury features like a range rover for such cheap coin.

@@CarExpertAus a bit dearer the accent sport it replaced.you could get those for under twenty grand as automatics towards the end.having said that this on the list as a next car for me.next step above that is a base i30 but at close to almost thirty grand they must be mad,only way i could afford one of those is second hand two years old low miles at a huge price saving.

Price is unmatched, it's a cheap good car. Lots of safety for chips actually. Very poor review
