It's good to hear that your buddy survived such a traumatic accident. We all, in some points in our lives, experience something that would cost us our lives. It's a learning experience. Stay safe and we look forward to your next video, Jesse!

Thanks for the video Jesse. I like it because you are open and honest and not full of gimmicks like so many YT'rs. I would enjoy more stories about your life, you and your friends, and/or you and your family. I don't know how you felt flying over the water on that parasail in Mexico, but I guess at least the water looked calm there. Objects in currents of water can be deadly. I am so glad you survived and are willing to share your a small part of your life with us. Thank you!

My friend and I had a very similar experience. My friend was taken in by the ocean's notorious undertow. Thanks to my prior lifeguard training, I was able to bring back to shallow waters. That summer I taught him everything I knew from treading water for 15+ mins., floating and swimming against the ocean current. Glad to say that at the end of that summer, the apprentice had surpassed the master. He's now an adept swimmer, surfer and certified scuba diver. Glad that you made it out alive and lived to share your experience.

Jesse, I also came close to death while tubing. I was sucked under water under a low bridge, except the bottom of the bridge touched the water. I was pinned under the bridge and I remember thinking, "I'm going to die." And then it spit me out.

Most people don't understand chance & probability & how it relates to our daily lives. In the same way you can experience things like you & your friend did & have nothing bad happen because, random chance happened to be in your favor that day, some people do something as simple as misstep when they get to a corner & end up falling into the street & get hit by a car, or they trip on uneven sidewalk & get hurt real bad by the fall. Even though the vast majority of people who fall from a chair don't get hurt, a small percentage fall just right & brake a wrist, and arm, or even their neck. A vary, vary, small percentage of people can fall from a chair just right & die, especially children. Its the same way most children who fall from a second or third story building suffer great injuries or even die, some do survive. This is also true of greater heights, as some people have survived falling from 6 & 7 stories up. Most of the general public don't understand the science behind such events, & its hard for people to deal with the tragic events that happen in the world such as the typhoon that hit the Philippines, so they have to come up with some sort of supernatural agent/force behind such events. Glad you were smart enough to ware the life jacket, lots of guys would have not worn one because, we tend to feel invincible when we we young. By waring the life jacket, you improved your odds of surviving the type of event you experienced.

Glad your buddy's ok! That shit cray. I suck at swimming too so my idea of swimming consists of chilling in the shallow end and challenging kids to cannonballs, handstands, and splashing fights. I find it safer....most of the time :)

I've had numerous close calls. One car accident in particular. A bad fall off an extension ladder. 2 different close calls with a chainsaw to my forehead, also involving falls from ladders. (I try to avoid chainsaws these days; haven't learned my ladder lesson yet) A giant tree limb, falling on its own, barely missed me (that one was very weird, because I got a weird feeling as I was walking across a yard, I stopped, backed up two feet, & it came crashing down). And I've had a lot of close calls with various animals, even once accidently stepping on the back of a large gator, and once being picked up by the leg by a camel. But I've been present at even more close calls of others. I saved an 80 yr old woman and horse vet with a horse flipped over them. I pulled my father from a collapsed building. I've led a very active life.:)

i hate the water too and can also relate to that. i almost died when i drowned, it was in a big pool and i didn't know how to swim, next minute i know, i went deep into the water and blacked out. when i regained consiousness, i had my sis godmom giving me cpr...it was weird but came very, very close to death, after that i avoided the pool like a plague, but i guess for me, it's just one of the death experiences i had

Thinking about it, there have been about 4 times where things could have gone completely wrong. -Once when I was about 8 or 9 I went to my mother's company picnic and for some reason I decided to go on the diving board at the deep end and I could feel myself sinking and taking in water and I can't tell you what happened to not make it so. -Then there was a time when I was around 12 and I was in the passenger side of the car with my dad not wearing my seat belt when we got rammed from behind and my head hit the windshield and lucky for me I had I hard head cause all that happened was the windshield cracked. -Then there was the time in college where we were in a rental car heading home on the Jersey Turnpike from an anime convention when the front right tire seized up is the best way to explain it, and the driver hit the brakes and try to take control but that just caused the car to start spinning on the turnpike. Lucky for us we landed on the grass about a couple of feet away from the metal divider. So, we had to spend the night in Jersey cause we wouldn't be able to get another car until the morning. I was thankful the night before having survived just to get a wake up call on how worse it could have been cause back on the turnpike, we ended up passing a car accident where the two cars involved did not look promising. I was a big ball of tears the whole way home. -Then about two years ago I was driving and I hit a 4 way stop. I was heading south and there was a silver jeep heading west. We stopped like we were suppose to and since I got there first I had the right of way. So, I started going forward, but something told me to stop. And 2 seconds after I stopped this black SUV just went speeding past the grey jeep. I went to the next block pulled to the corner and freaked out for a good minute. This is why you should suppress these things.
