Patience. Been watching the Habs since '65. Enjoy the journey over the next several/many years!

Mark compared to past rebuilds, would you say that this rebuild has the potential to be exciting to watch? How many years do you think that the Habs will be in the playoff mix when the rebuild is finally completed? Do you prefer rebuilds or retools given all that you've seen?
@spaceman3735Ай бұрын
@@bobgomez9249 Bob, this the the first time in my life that the Hab’s have done a rebuild……in other years we tried to trade our way to winning which never worked……..I agree with Mark, although it is hard to watch, we must be patient
@AceMatthew25414Ай бұрын
@bobgomez9249 Uh past rebuilds? This is Montreals first actual rebuild.
@MrGlovesave33Ай бұрын
Mark agree 1000%. Watching since 81 season . 1st real rebuild for mtl. Patience the key. Ghg!
@markhodge7Ай бұрын
@@bobgomez9249 You humble me. I've never seen a Habs rebuild. The 60s and 70s were 1 or 2 rookies trying to crack the Best line-up in the league. The 80s were the slow decline, that ended in the 90s with their last cup. It's been band-aids ever since. So sad that Price never got the team he deserved. Could have been another dynasty. That's the crime. A rebuild around Price would have been ideal, but it wasn't managed well. I can see the Habs sneak in next year, but 3-4 years before this plan shows if it is working. The 30s could be the Habs' decade. That's called patience.

A good example of developing a winning culture is the Washington Capitals; a lot of their young guys won back to back cups with Hershey and are now doing very well in the NHL.
@mightydigebugeАй бұрын
You said: "a winning culture in Laval". Isn't that one of the best way to develop players ? I would be in no rush, because they are good with the Rockets, to promote them to the Canadiens instead of cimenting their confidence and player development with Pascal Vincent. Seriously, although maybe not perfect and some won't make the NHL, but our drafts these last years are really starting to pay off, at least to me.

My thought is that Caufield is not making US team because of his defensive play (also, his size), but he doesn't contribute a lot defensively (in my opinion), something he needs to work on. My two cents worth.
@HabsTypeBeatАй бұрын
Nah he’s a decent defender. It’s mostly his size but more so his age. Other guys who are just as good have a more established career under their belt so veteran coaches will always pick them and I don’t blame them. Guentzel is in the same realm as Caufield defensively.
@spiderjerusalem6887Ай бұрын
Caufield not making it would give him some motivation to mature his game a bit.
@Spot-0nАй бұрын
Hopefully... Imagine saying "As long as he scores goals, I don't care about his overall game" 🤦♂
@LethalTobinatorАй бұрын
It’s pretty simple. He won’t make the roster because of his size. USA already has a few smaller players that are better on both sides of the ice.
@GI-JoeАй бұрын
too late dont mess with the players building, they are worth the wait, things will get better
@johnraymond7163Ай бұрын
I’ve changed my mind on this one. At first, I wanted to bring up the kids to get them NHL experience because we aren’t going anywhere this year. But now I think we leave them there for two reasons. First, let them continue to develop together and build chemistry they can bring to the big team in the next couple of seasons. Secondly, if we are going to miss the playoffs, then play the hand dealt and get another high lottery pick; get a future top 2 Center to really stack a near term dynasty. Short term pain for five or six years of Habs glory? I’ll take it. GHG!

Hage is a couple of years away IMO but will be a good one.
@michaelwhiter4308Ай бұрын
At least two, possibly more. Not all young guys are ready to make the jump at 20.
@dav4303Ай бұрын
The expectations we put on our young prospects is way too high. From what I see unless we hit almost all prospects are bottom 6. With D Mailloux and Reinbacher are the only 2 that may be top pairing and we are not even sure of that

Sounds like the CH players should go down to learn how to win.

80s habs farm teams won the calder cup then came up to the 86 habs for Stanley. Build the foundation... win there and raise up . Ghg!
@xellossm8444Ай бұрын
Would be funny if Team USA got folded in the 4 Nations (also Matthews is currently on IR). Feel prospects should be given some time to develop and don't rush it as being called up and then sent down will not help their development. Mind you Mailloux was called up then sent down after some major defensive gaffes and Joshua Roy....think that autograph signing no show could be held against him. Wouldn't call them up too quickly unless they sort up any defensive issues.
@VeopozАй бұрын
Leave Caufeild aside that's fine at least he won't get injured in some no name tourney with only 4 teams 😅 If he is gonna score 40 ti's year he needs to play 82 games

CHL will lose 18 year olds to the NCAA. But will have younger players like Hage that went the USHL route.
@ironmike2798Ай бұрын
I see this as a win win, yes CHL will go down in quality but it will be a better development league, and the NCAA will get better and a great way to transition from college to pro.

not sure i could put Cole ahead of any of those guys plus others.

Ahead maybe not but definitely in their class. He’s much younger though and a veteran coach will always choose the vet over the young guy when the talent is close.

Caufield scores on the PP. He wouldn’t be on the PP on the 🇺🇸 team anyways. They don’t need him. Too small, not strong enough defensively.

Josh STOP with those childish mems already!! They are not funny, they are so demeaning to the players also. You guys are supposed to be sorta professional. If I were Lane Hutson and saw my face on Thomas the train I would be insulted. AS for demi god please, he is nowhere near a god. Stop trying to pump them up as they have not proved anything yet, and NO one is the savior of the Habs. It's a TEAM effort!! Stop already. I used to like your videos, but now they seem just childish and ridiculous.
