🔬 In this video, I take a closer look at the differences between human and frog blood by comparing my own blood to that of a frog under the microscope. From identifying the different types of cells present to observing their distinct structures, there are some fascinating and important differences to be seen. [Video MH181]

I was always interested in that kind of topic. I was also wondering how an insect's blood looks under the microscope.

You make very fascinating videos. I bought an Amscope microscope years ago and I have found the joy of exploring things again because of you! So thank you very much and greetings from Finland! 😀

Congratulations to the host on a very well done interesting video. The idea that the white blood cells remove the blood cells with a nucleus was interesting. Somehow the white blood cell needs to know to attack something in the blood stream that is from the host body.

I LOVED this video! Well, I love ALL of your videos but I REALLY loved this one. I think I loved it so much because I have chronic anemia & I go to my Dr. At least 2x a year to monitor my hemoglobin levels & plan when I’ll start iron infusions again so the oxygen levels in my blood fluctuates a lot more than the average person & plays a more dominant role in how I’m feeling more noticeably on a more frequent basis. Thank you for this educational video & showing that different animals have different kinds of blood cells, I thought all creatures were similar in that way. Now I know more!

This was fascinating had no idea that red blood cells in mammals didn't have a nucleus

What are the small vibrating dots between the cells. 3:20 What is that at the top left of the red blood cell? It seems to be holding on to it.... Thanks for the Video!

Hi there, so are the purple blobs the white blood cells of the frog or do they not have these?
@Microbehunter

The purple circles with the dark purple dots (=nucleus) in the center are red blood cells. Amphibians also have white blood cells.

@@Microbehunter, I was referring to the purple stained blobs. without a nucleus.

Birds are not mammals? Guess not since they lay eggs. But they breath air and are warm blooded. Dinosaur sub-species? Just curious friend.

You should do a video of how the red blood cells mature, and show the different stages. The red cell actually has a nucleus and then slowly gets smaller and smaller, its very cool to see. You can also see as it gains more hemoglobin and turns red on the wright giemsa stain.

Interesting. But I am puzzled. I can see that amphibians like frogs can get oxygen through their skin. Also, because they are cold blooded they probably don't need that much oxygen in the first place, and so they get away with a less efficient system of carrying oxygen around. But what about the birds? They can't "breathe" through their skin and they are warm blooded as well. They surely need a lot of oxygen. How do they cope without the mammal's oxygen carrying efficiency?
