Hi Jose, my name is Martin and i'm from the Netherlands. I will get the printer this monday and was excited till I saw your video. I hope its all fine with the printer but i'm going to test the hell out of it. I'm going to say goodbye to my old printer wich I had for about 12 years; a pro 4800 Epson. Thanks for your pretty amasing videos about printers. Have a great day. Greetings from Holland at Kingsday!

I installed our new Canon Pro 2000 this weekend, and I am getting banding on it. Not happy, was hoping to replace Pro 100/Pro 10 fleet with the Pro 2000, and so far the output doesn't match the Pro 10 and I'm trying various things to get rid of banding, none of which are working yet.
@cheo19496 жыл бұрын
Did you run the nozzle check and if perfect then an auto print head aligment? If still no joy you need to call Canon support.

Hi Jose, I have owned a canon pro 2000 for over a year and experienced no banding issues, but the print heads failed this weekend and need replacing!!!!! Not happy may replace with a Epson P9000 as I will get a 3 year warranty.

Hi Jose, thanks a lot for your great channel. Have the chance of getting a used Canon IPF Pro-2000 for 500 EUR. As far as I am aware is in a storage after a transportation flush. Is it worth the risk? Do you recommend it ? Still have the same opinion on this printer ?

I get that when I use Etching paper. It seems the high parts of the paper have ink, in the depths, it's just a little whiteish. I gave up using the paper.
@cheo19495 жыл бұрын
Hello Judy! Hope you are doing great! So I take it is a very heavily textured paper? Is it coated for Inkjet printing? What was your printer again, the PRO-2000? What paper choice do they recommend? It may be a matter of adjusting ink density if you use the Media Configuration Tool. That way maybe more ink will reach the low points of the texture. I will be away for several days for my Birthday from this coming Tuesday but I will have my phone so I'll be able to get back to you.

Hey Jose me also on the following "your" videos. I've been looking at getting a 4000. Obviously if you've seen my vids you know I have a pro 1000 (for a while). There is also a problem I've had with it also. Most people would never ever notice. But Canon even tried sending me a new printer...not refurbished. Same problem. I start guiding storm chasing photography next week but will get back to you on it when I return late July and get moved in to the area. Just moved out to the east coast (philly). Get together for coffee when I get back and head that way. I do know some of the folks at Canon and will let you know what they say. All the best and keep up the killer videos.

I’ve been getting an error code and I contacted canon and they want $1000 to fly someone out to service the Canon Imageprograf 2000 printer. I was wondering is there a way to access the print head and the wires without having to turn on the printer. I can’t access the service panel within the menu due to the error. Thank you for any help you might have.

Ouf. My pro 1000 is fully dead after only 2 years of owning it. Canon said there is nothing they can do. It’s my first bad experience with any Canon gear. I own the 1DXII, 5D IV, EF600 f/4I IS II, 70-200 2.8 L IS II, 50 1.2 L, 85 1.2L, 24-70, 16-35 2.8 II, and many more. I can’t believe what just happened to me. Not to tella sob story. But I got the pro 1000 in December 2017. I’ve printed about 100 images with it. Of course it used a lot of ink and maintenance carts, but i was happily ok with that to have reliability and print quality. That was until last week. My cyan tank ran empty. Immediately ordered the tank from B and H. It came 3 days later. I installed it, it must have shut off during cleaning and ran 2 additional cleaning cycles using 5 more ink tanks with over 50% remaining! And a maintenance cartridge that was only about 20% full. I then finally got it ready to print a fill 17x25.5 inch print on Canon Pro Luster paper which I cut myself. The print had awful banding unlike anything I’ve ever seen before in this printer. Before printing, I printed the print head alignment check and it was fine. However I went to adjust print setting to try and correct the banding and it spit out my print less than half way through and showed me “Canon Support Code B204” after waiting on hold for over 2 hours. Canon tells me there is nothing I can do. Even after spending nearly 700$ on BRAND NEW Canon INK tanks (never used except for head alignment test) I found out my Beloved Canon Printer is fully Dead and Canon will not attempt to repair it. I was told that I am “welcome” to try and fix it myself or bring it to a printer repair shop, but that it would likely cost more than just buying a new Pro-1000 since the ink would need to be fully drained out and the print head replaced, even then there would be no promise that it could be fixed. Out of sympathy I was told of a “Canon Upgrade Program” which is a 10% off discount for “upgrading “ canon gear which failed prematurely. I was I told that it was 20% off full frame cameras( great because I want the 1DX III when it comes out). However I was then informed that I cannot use this upgrade program for a camera body because it was a printer that was defective; not a camera. This was a waste of over an hour on the phone discussing. Then later when I discussed interest in the Pro-2000 upgrade I was informed that this would also not apply because it’s considered a “commercial” product (even though it’s in the same category as the Pro-1000). So long story short, even after being offered the Canon Upgrade Program, I was then informed there would be no actual “upgrade” because the Pro-1000 is the highest grade printer in the category I’m allowed to use my discount on. Only a same printer ( which I don’t want to buy because it’s failed me so prematurely) or a downgrade was being offered. I still love Canon with all my heart, but this was a truly very negative and awful sad experience to deal with. I have a photo assignment due for the end of the month( February) that I will have to lose a client over now because of this. I did nothing wrong with this printer, it was my beloved baby actually, and I would routinely dust it off every week, and try to make atleast 1- 2 prints per week with it. I maybe made 100-120 prints maximum with it. Mostly 8x10 and a handful of 13x19 and some 17x22 and a single 17x25.5 ( I had just ordered my first Roll paper to use with it so was never able to print this large with it )

Has there been a solution for this yet? Was considering to get this printer (if not the P800 or P5000 from Epson) mainly because I got a good deal for it.its pretty much the same price as the P5000.(2.300€/2600$). Also do you know if we loose our warranty if you use 3rd party ink? I was told this one uses the same cartriges by just turning off the ink lvl counters .Oh and I wanted to inform you about the P800, that my ink supplier told me he just got a phone call from the manufacturer of ink and they are afraid that any printer sold from now on will not work with compatible even in Eu! So that made me think twice about getting the 800 since im not sure if I could uninstal the firmware update. Saw a site where you buy keys to do that,have you heard of that?
@cheo19496 жыл бұрын
Inkjetmall was working on something for the P5000 but it is still being tested for reliability.

Jose Rodriguez thank you for all the knowledge you share, I finally went on to order a Canon pro 2000.Was told by the distributor that banding occurs mainly with the second roll unit and that he will come to my place to assist me for any problems I have.Got a great deal for European standards 2.200€ . Which is what id pay for the P5000 and how much the P800 would cost in the end of I needed a decoder(plus compatible ink cartiges and the roll unit).
@cheo19496 жыл бұрын
That second roll may be applying too much tension and causing that. Epson is going to make it impossible to use refillable carts or ANY 3rd party options very soon. So OEM would be the only option for us. Hopefully CANON will follow suit.

Wow I have the pro 2000. Worst printer to work with. Borderless not good to do. Software not user friendly. I have had it 3 months and about to take a bat to it. Plus im not a guru in PS or LR so even there its a difficult situation to resize and proof the image. Done 6 images and none have came even close to what is the actual image. Should i take my loss and go back to getting prints made or keep wasting ink. ?
@cheo19494 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to matching your prints to what you see on the scree? If so that is caused by either a work flow problem or monitor calibration or lack of or both. If it's a image layout problem again, that is part of the work flow and learning curve. The problem I described on this video had to do with units from the UK.
@mikeweast47314 жыл бұрын
@@cheo1949 ive used the color monkey to calibrate monitor. Used LR print option to check colors only. Not to print from . Selected correct media and let printer driver do the rest. And i end up with images way off on boundaries. I try to leave at least 1 inch all the way around as a border. Gets covered by mat board anyways. If i do a 24 x 36 i have to cut a speacial mat because it comes out 22 x 32 or sometimes closer to the size i enter but never 23 1/2 x 35 1/2
@cheo19494 жыл бұрын
There is no reason for that to occur. Why are you not printing from lightroom? All you have to do is create custom size of 24x36. Them create a custom cell of 22x34. Load your image to that cell. You might have to click on zoom to fill if you image does not perfectly fit in the cell. That's it. I recently did a video covering just that.
