So one could argue that if time is broken and weird in the mansion, then each entity that your character encounters in the game is really them, at another point in time. Which means that there may in fact have been one version of the character who simply walked in, took the painting, and then left without incident, and this is who we saw steal the painting from us at the very beginning of the game. Or perhaps it's simpler than that, and the player thinks they are playing as the character who comes to the mansion, but they are in fact playing an old entity that has been trapped in the mansion for who knows how long, and the character at the beginning is simply an NPC who takes the painting and then leaves while the player's character remains trapped within the mansion. Either way, it's very sad.

Located at 525 South Winchester Blvd. in San Jose. Since its construction in 1886, the property and mansion were claimed by many to be haunted by the ghosts of those killed with Winchester rifles.

I so wanna go to that house to explore the mansion! It’s so awesome! I love the lore behind the house~! The house was design over her nervousness and fear of the ghosts that may have been haunting the house! So she had the builders make a maze like structure on top of the existing house to confuse the ghosts.

@@YukiSenpai16 @Kabeer Kishore the story i heard was that she was told by a fortune teller that she would die once construction on the house stopped, so she made sure the mansion was always under construction, building doors into nowhere and maze-like additions and always using different builders so no one set knew the full layout of the place

What a wonderful adventure. First we got to know our good buddy Dave, then we hung out with his cousin Rupert. Rupert was fun but turned out to be a bit of a creep. Then there was Filthy Frank. A real child at heart that one, always wanting to play tag!

What's funny is that this is actually semi-close to how Winchester Mansion truly is. Mrs. Winchester was paranoid that she was being possessed and followed by the spirits killed by Winchester Rifles, so the house is filled with stairs that lead to nowhere, corridors that end randomly, and is made of a very confusing and awful layout that she believed disoriented the spirits so she could protect herself. She was a very small woman, so the stairs are shorter and thinner and corridors narrower!! The house is actually really gorgeous and really scary! :)

⁠@@jackrabbit.there’s literally nothing in the layout or decor of the house in this game that recalls the real Winchester House (I live near there and have been more than a handful of times.) The concept/name may be lifted from the real life house but I believe it’s more of an Easter egg rather than true thematic inspiration behind the game. And no, the house is not scary. It’s a bit odd but there’s nothing supernatural or occult about it. By all reputation Sarah Winchester was a normal woman and actually a great employer to work for, her builders were paid super well and she gave back to her community

This would make an amazing movie, realizing that the monster (possibly your future self) was trying to save you from the fate they suffered is an awesome idea. 10/10 this game is perfect story wise, and the graphics were perfect for this story even if they were a little out of date they still hold up when you consider the time traveling aspect and somber ending. Love it ❤

This is a really decent horror game that uses the right amount of scares and not just relying on loud ass music, constant jumpscares, or any other overused method to scare a player compared to other recent games. I love how it's almost similar to Amnesia and that for every area you visit there is a new addition of things moving, sounds being made, and flashes of people (or ghosts) to get your skin crawling and senses tingling. Love it!

I love games that make you truly think about the story and want to replay to understand them like this. I just wish there were more fun "mechanics" to stay engaged for a second playthrough.
