Not a fan of ChatGPT, but it's fun to see how, it answered the questions. Deep down inside, I think Adventure Dan, would have came to the same conclusions without ChatGPT, on the Sailing Lifestyle . . . . Whether you live on Land or on the Sea, we should all strive to find that sweet spot in the Universe than makes us Happy and believe me, watching and growing with Dan & this channel with all its lessons on Sailing Life and Adventure has gotten me a Ocean closer to that Sweet space in this Beautiful universe that has a perfect balance of living Life with a adventure and challenge around every corner . . . .

I don’t agree with number 4 not being true. As much money as I spend on maintenance and upgrades does not compare to what my friends spend on their homes; lawn care, roof maintenance and all around maintenance. I think we spend a bit less on a boat. However, on a boat you cannot let the maintenance slide.

I pay 1500 eur a month for a house - heating, electricity, trash take out, maintenace, rent/bank. 18000eur a year. Do you spend more than 180k eur to live 10 years on the boat like yours?

I should’ve started reading comments before I made one but yes I agree with you. Land is way more expensive. I think the taxes on the house are 6900 a year and then there’s a house payment which are you talking about a minimum I mean, mine is only 700 bucks but a minimum usually is around 1200 a month and a house mortgage and then you have to have vehicle so you have to have insurance on the house you had insurance on a vehicle you have to pay for fuel on that vehicle, I mean expenses and way Quicker on land there’s no doubt I think you can really well maintain a boat if it’s a decent boat at much lower cost than maintaining the cost of homes, automobiles traveling to from work, and then you have to go on vacations for thousands of dollars to be able to have a good time adventures so on the right there in your lap if you live on the boat it’s right there every day dive off the side I mean I don’t see any comparison that would say it’s more Expensiveon a boat I really don’t think so I mean I know there’s things that I don’t know yet cause I’m not doing it, but the land is truly got to be more expensive overall

I just read another comment utilities I mean you gotta add those up utilities are I would say an average 300 bucks a month at least I mean you got an electric bill it’s 100 and something depending on you know whether you’re running an air-conditioning at the house do you have the water bill which is the gas bill which is another hundred and something do you have the gas bill which is usually less than 100 I think I don’t know. I can’t remember it to look at it but you’re over 300 now already soagain more expensive. I’ll stop commenting till I have somebody to talk to sorry if I’m bugging people but I’m just venting looking forward to retiring and joining you guys on the water.

On my Albin Vega 27 my yearly cost of living is around $3500 including absolutely everything. I bought it for $3000 and I rebuilt it for a life on the water for another $5000. That was paid cash. I have money saved up for a couple of lifetimes.

Wow, the more I think about it too I mean homeowners insurance you need transportation so if you’re not doing an automobile you need to pay for transportation every day I go to work I spent literally $600 minimum a month in fuel alone I am looking at retiring and getting I don’t know maybe $5000 a month income from retirement to start which will go up when I get it an older age I think I would have plenty of money with my pension, and being modest with what I do with my spending and saving of what I don’t spend along the way, I won’t have to have anything but home/sailboat I mean look at the car. I’ve gotta have oil changes and maintenance on them too. I mean I think it’s way more expensive to be on land. I still haven’t seen the cost and more than what I do already hear on a conversation with you sometime about these things so I have a better understanding I’m not on a boat yet, but that is my goal within the next 1 to 3 years I plan on being there.

What’s up Dan!! Think you’re pretty cool dude. I have an idea for your trash on my farm. I make Eco bricks. Basically means you clean all of your plastic trash of its original contents and then cut them up into little pieces with scissors and stuff them into water, bottles or any sort of bottle. You can fit a surprisingly large amount of trash in these bottles when you cut them up into smaller pieces and pack them. Then in the end you’ll have an ego break that people can use to build with just an idea for you. Sail on mane🤙🏼

I do disagree with your comment on the boat costing you much more than a house. I mean a house has land property tax that’s usually on average probably four to $6000 minimum a year so you gotta break that up monthly. My house is 27 years old it needs a roof $28,000, I mean things add up with a house just as bad and I would think even more than on the boat I mean yes catastrophe things can happen to the boat large large ticket item. Things can happen to the boat, but in essence, I think the cost is down more on a boatcorrectly if I’m wrong I’m not arguing that’s just the way I’m looking at things
