Based purely on the temperament of the two guys debating, I'd believe the meat guy (or better yet, simply not trust the vegan.) He was, to put it bluntly, extremely emotional. And the fact he continued to lose him mind on Twitter shows he's not a rational person, but rather more of a cult-like follower. Not saying this means veganism is wrong, or carnivores are right. But simply that based on that particular debate, there is no way I'm trusting Nick.

No malnourished person will ever be right in their head. Veganism is malnutrition by definition, animals and especially raw animals are food for humans. Plants are indigestible for us. Hell they are indigestible for every animal on earth. The only thing that can digest plant matter and get rid of the antinutrients in plants are microanimals, aka the gut flora, which we don't have equipped to do so as we are not foregut fermenters like herbivores are, we can only ferment in the colon where we do not absorb essential nutrients.

I have had Crohn’s Disease since 2011 and was able to get into and maintain remission for the first time ever 2 years ago after trying the carnivore diet strictly for two months. Since then I slowly added in fruits, vegetables, and many other whole foods and have had no issues since then. Im primarily animal based, usually keto, but also include periods of clean carbs and more diversity in my diet. I think strict carnivore is a great short term solution to medical issues, but definitely not a good long term way of living. Bottom line is to be your own doctor and eat what makes you feel the best. Neither doctors nor their drugs were able to give me solutions, so I had to take full accountability for my health and vitality.
@saradomim
@saradomim Жыл бұрын
Just because you are addicted to eating for taste, does not mean that strict real raw carnivore is not a good long term way of living. What is it about constant energy, good bodyfat percentages, clear mind, no mental issues, hormonal balance and good teeth health is part of "...definitely not a good long term way of living". I've been eating raw animals and sparse fruit for almost 3 years now, cooked food in particular social settings.

@@saradomim If that works for you it's great. Zero carb has not worked well for me, it was great for a short period. But the more time passed the more issues I started having including brain fog. Paul Saladino talks about the long term dangers of keto and zero carb for some people. Introducing fruit along with everything was the first time I thought of carnivore as truly sustainable and do so right now too. Zero carb is medicine in my view, not something to do long term.

As someone who battled Colitis as well, I agree. Short term carnivore diet to regain gut health and slowly re-introducing fruits, vegetables and grains. It worked for me. However, I can never have dairy as I have become lactose intolerant and my stomach hates it. So I drink soy for the protein or water. I've recently wanted to test my body on a vegan diet but haven't yet. My sister also has Colitis but more severe than I and she is trying a keto diet and has had good results. Also helps her exzema.

@RavenArrowz I am 30 so not far behind. I remember when I was first diagnosed and had the whole emergency hospital procedure because I was losing so much weight. They eventually put me on steroids to get my inflammation down and get me back to a somewhat normal less inflamed state. Then the doctor said I would have to take these other pills morning and night for the rest of my life. I said, "screw that". I remember them being quite large and hard to swallow. Called them horse pills. Anyways, while I finished the first bottle of those pills, I decided to literally try everything. I went to China Town and had the doctor there read my palm or something and they gave me this really nasty mix of dried mushroom/fungus/bark that tasted/smelled awful. Had to boil that into a tea and drink it. Not sure if it helped but maybe gave me some more gut bacteria. I also tried probiotic packs every day to introduce good stuff down there some more. I went through a lot of online material and Colitis people basically said 'Diet" is of key importance in managing it. So I thought that food was the answer. Why wouldn't it be its what our body uses every day. Then I came across the carnivore diet which is surprisingly quite popular now for IBS, Crohns, and Colitis and since meat has a high digestible % compared to other foods, I decided to try it out. I think eliminating all the foods I used to eat and getting a lot of nutrients from Meat helped to not only regain my strength and gut health but let me then slowly re-introduce other foods back in. I can clearly tell when my body/gut hates a food. So the carnivore diet is a great starting point in my opinion for the correction of diet. I'm not sure I could have done it as a Vegan because plants/legumes are tougher on digestion and you have to eat a lot of them. In the end elimination diets like a carnivore, Keto, or maybe even Vegan might work. Carnivore did for me and I don't take those horse pills anymore. I also haven't relapsed since. I have a firm belief in treating the actual underlying problem and not just keeping it contained or treating symptoms with pills. (That is unless you have a massive flare-up and need steroids to get your body back to a somewhat normal state) I later on found a love for Korean food (lived there for 2 years) because they use fermented foods like Kimchi that have natural bacteria that is healthy for the gut at every single meal. Asia is also very lactose intolerant so the food they use don't have a lot of dairy. Also Korean BBQ is to die for.

Excellent video with a ton of good points. I raise grass-fed, grass-finished cows on rotational grazing. I tried everything for years and it was only when I started eating like a true carnivore (mostly raw meats and eggs) that my health and my life was saved. We have the digestive track and teeth for eating animals. Of course if you destroy your food with heat, it becomes chewy and dry. I loved the comments by the animal-based advocates since they are totally on point. I can survive on a single animal for an entire year and regenerate the land through the cows naturally fertilizing the land. Another bonus is that grass-fed animals don't need much water. There are a ton of people in the world that can't tolerate eating plants and get incredibly sick.

I agree with having meat little fruit and some well cooked veggies and eggs so I am going back to that I feel between a carnivore and paleo diet/ way of eating will bring so much health. What's most important is repenting of sin. The afterlife is real, Jesus Christ is real. Plastic surgery, dressing in certain outfits, exposing the body is a very real sin. Please, sin separates your soul from a holy and righteous God. The spirit world is real and human beings are being coaxed by the world to do things that are toxic to their soul and relationship with the one who created them. Evolution is a lie. Please, diet is important, taking care of the body, but the soul is much more important and severely neglected. Jesus Christ is real and you can find out for yourself if you cry out, repent, and seek the one that created all of this. God bless

Quite liked the video, interesting topic, well put together, thumbs up. Really wasn't expecting to hear you bring up Wim Hoff here, but given the context you used him in it made sense, it made for a nice compare/angle to look at this from. Also very positive of you to bring up how it's good to be open-minded, try things, and listen to both sides. Be open to talk to someone even if their view is not something that you yourself follow. Also, cool idea for a part of the video to be about inviting people from "both sides of the barricade" and have them have an interesting discussion on the topic. Well, at least it could've been an interesting discussion, if all people involved followed basic principles of a dispute, and I feel like at least one person there didn't. People from each side need to listen to what the other has to say, consider their points and arguments, not disregard any of them but acknowledge them - and try to provide both counterarguments to the other side's arguments as well as bring arguments of your own, all while trying to be as calm, respectful, factual and non-based as possible. When done right, not in a aggressive way, it can be great. Discussing a topic or topics with a person of different perspective - both sides can learn from each other & grow. Even if you disagree with that person on something and neither of you change your view on that topic, it's okey, still can part ways peacefully(or even be friends). It's okey to agree to disagree on something. By listening to other's person perspective we can learn a lot. ...And I don't mean to hate on anyone, but I wish to point out that I really feel... that the vegan guy Nick did none of that really. He basically just (figuratively)yelled out his ideology, brought up some research that puts carnivore diet in negative light (while of course didn't acknowledged at all the fact that there's plenty more research around, some of which saying the opposite of what he presented like some kind of holy banner of undeniable truth)... and then snobbed over the fact that Brian didn't gave a straight forward reply to his very much *not* straight forward "question". "What is true of humans, that is untrue of animals, that if untrue of humans, would cause value sufficiently, that would be justified in killing and slaughtering them for food?". Who talks like this? He clearly put it this way on purpose to confuse and make it difficult to form any kind of reply, all in order to then uplift his nose and act as if he just became the a winner of this argument because "the opposition" didn't gave a straight-forward answer to this nonsense "question" (btw something that he didn't do either, he didn't gave an answer/counterargument to any of Brian's points, he just ignored them and moved on as if thinking "If I won't acknowledge any of the opposition's arguments, they won't exist/be valid"). Not to even mention his tweets which were just rude, aggressive, getting offensive and toxic even, claiming that Brian provided not a single answer to any of his questions nor provided any valid arguments, none at all. Said that "he was like a deer in the highlights", called him a charlatan who should be ashamed of himself. Just what is going on in his skull, seriously. He seems like a very bad representative of vegans(unless most of them are this way, which I hope is not the truth). I bet there could've been an interesting back-and-forth conversation going if both sides were open-minded and discussed this topic not aggressively. I understand it may be at times difficult to not be at least a little biased, but if you don't allow yourself to listen to what the other person has to say - to how they see things and how they argument it, to the rationalizations they bring up, but instead you just yell out your own stance, yell your own ideologies out like it's the one and only holy truth and way to live, then you're not partaking in a discussion at all, then you're just a disrespectful, stubborn close-minded asshole who's aggressively(or passive aggressively) shoving your mentality at their face - are not even trying to disprove their points or prove yours, just yell like it's the one and only holy truth. You ain't going to change anyone's mind this way. PS: Yes I sometimes write long comments, what about it.

At this point I am about 95 % carnivore and I definitely feel my best. I do eat blackberries and blueberries, and some pickles with no sugar added. I am hoping to progress to 100%. “Do you own research” is regression. Might as well be a Neanderthal. Science is collecting data and question. For example: Why check your cholesterol? Why check dexascan? Have you even look into the data and what their results mean, and how that has evolve through time? Right. You will be shock. Doesn’t mean they are not beneficial for most people. But we have to question the validity of studies and then find the appropriate application with current knowledges. That’s why we have journal clubs to train young doctors and maintain our skills. As we gather more data (real, not opinions and n=1), we adjust our recommendations and applications. But that’s how we find the right answer for more and more people. Be careful of what your messages convey. I applaud your success and influence. Don’t hurt anyone, even unintentionally.
