Don’t feel sad! You won’t be forgotten! I can promise you since I am the proof! I am now 25 and still remember my kindergarten teacher who called Daniel that also come from Canada. Although I don’t know his full name and never met him since I grow up, I always remember him. Also, when I clean my house, I just find out that I still keep the book as a gift that I received from him with his words and signature. So~!!! The time you spent definitely worth it!

I am also a teacher (in high school), so I understand the importance of establishing a good rapport with students. I was impressed by the children's English proficiency in a casual conversation. It is clear that the parents have put a lot of effort into their children's education, but your dedication to your job is undeniable. As you mentioned at the end of the video, the children will grow up and move on, but they will never forget you and your teaching because you are a great teacher!

I taught high school for a bit and I found it way more difficult to improve their English. They're old enough to have lost their natural ability to pick up another language. So I can't take all the credit, the kids were so young when I started teaching them that they kind of naturally picked it up

They get to speak English all day at school. So it's ok if they go home and use Chinese. It's their native language and must also be practiced

I had the opposite surprise back in Canadian high school. In grade 10 French our teacher insisted on a French only class. When he finally spoke English to us after about eight months, we were all astounded at his very Scottish accent.

You’re a good teacher and the kids are very cute! I think they’re more likely to remember you because they play with you and you favor interacting with them over adults. Also since you’re still invited to see them they will build longer memory over time

I think it has to do with the intonation 聲調 of Chinese and where people picked up the first language; but both of you are just fine in daily communication I guess!
