I BOUGHT A BMW M2 COMPETITION!
In today's video I bought a brand new 2020 BMW M2 Competition. After waiting nearly three months, the car finally arrived to the dealership on a trailer and I picked it up the same day! While I'm a HUGE Ford Mustang guy, I decided to change it up after deciding that the 2020 Shelby GT500 was not for me.

I seriously can’t believe how long it’s been since posting a video. I have to thank everybody for being so supportive despite not having any content. All of the messages I’ve received the past couple of months have meant a lot especially since I’ve kept everybody in the dark on what has been going on with me. Long story short, my Mom passed away, and I’ve been dealing with a lot of emotions that I can’t expect everybody to understand unless you’ve lost a parent that you were extremely close with. I’m not sure how often I’ll be posting, but I’m glad I at least grabbed a camera and finally have posted a video again. We will still have Mustang content too, I still love my Stangs!

Did the same thing when i picked up my BMW F80 from Minnesota and drove it back to South Florida. Used Frog Tape since it match the Austin Yellow (Essentially painters tape) Nice M2 and glad you got the manual!

I just got mine yesterday, congrats man. I agree with everything you said, they car is great and very comfortable for what it is. I purchased VRSF downpipes and a AA mid pipe to get the car louder while retaining the cutout feature.

@@JeffAshton the S55 noise hate comes from Europe. There they have particulate filters which mute the sound. Also being twin-turbo, it doesn't sound like the single-turbo N55, but S55 is the superior engine. And export models like for the US have the less restricted exhaust plus big 6-piston front and 4-piston rear brakes. The original M2 is not as a genuine M car as the M2 Competition.

Im also a M2 competition owner and what i did to my vehicle was delete the resonator. It made my car sound alot louder and it allowed alot more crackles and pops to come from the exhaust. Im definitely planning on getting an exhaust through Fi Exhaust. Ive only had my car for about a month now and it brings nothing but smiles to my face every time i get behind the wheel.

Glad you are back. Did you ever go into detail on the Hertz hood on the Whipple car? I thought you said something about it being flexing and possibly coming up with some type of support.

Did you get that hood? It flexed wayyy too much, I probably would not recommend getting one. I had a little spacer/grommet underneath the hood to stop it from flexing and hitting the top of the supercharger.

Great video! Noticed you mentioned you may do a video of taking off the protective film from factory. Did you end up putting something together you can share? Is it easy to do? Having my new M2C delivered in a couple of weeks and I've requested to keep all protective film on the car so just wondering what it is like to take the film off. The other thing I've heard that is risky going down this path is new cars can have scratches under the film and this can cause issues with the dealership as they are unlikely going to own the problem by pointing the finger at the customer and not the factory. Jeff, I came upon your journey in the last few weeks. I am appreciative of your video . I had planned to wrap a new Supra here in O town but after the hype of the Supra I have decided for my needs the M2 Competition is the car for me. I have ordered my car and am tracking it in production. The Fields BMW sales associate has not imputed the delivery instructions on the order. I will be following up with this and was wondering if you had any final thoughts since your excellent video as how I might improve my delivery experience and the coordination with my local installer of the Expel full car wrap and final coating of Ceramic Pro Silver. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Jeff Ashton Can you let us know how reliable this car is. I had a 2008 335i it was so unreliable, used that I purchased for around 14,000 dollars. During the first few months a had a problem with the engine and the mechanic said it was a cylinder misfire he told me it could be a bunch of things ranging from ignition system,fuel system or a bad valve. Furthermore, he told me that everything was made from plastic and that it will be really hard to work on and so I sold the piece of crap and now have a Honda Civic 2013 but it’s boring and I was thinking of buying a bmw m2 2019! Please if you can give me some constructive feedback! Also am really sorry for your mother may she Rest In Peace!

Hey man welcome the the M club. I just got a 2017 M2 about three weeks ago. I was going to buy a new one but found a '17 for sale with under 5k on it with every Dinan addon. I really didn't want the S55 sound, so when i found a N55 with 460 HP it made me buy it. The M2 will surprise you as it go's like stink and is nimble like a Go cart.

Congrats! I'm a BMW fan, and I happened to catch this post. I love all cars, but here in San Diego, a lot of the Mustang guys (Muscle cars in general) hate on BMWs. I never understood why they're always revving on me, and trying to entice me. I'm just driving a daily dad vehicle, to chauffeur my kids around. I can't afford to get caught street racing. Anyway, condolences, and again great buy on the M2. I have an F30 335i M Sport, and the next step for me is an M3.

Ive the M2 Auto in Sunset Orange . I did want a manual and they are quite rare here in the UK . The auto is excellent and the gear changes are very fast and smooth . The paddle shifter are good once gotten use to it . Great video thank you for sharing

Correct, I washed, iron x’d, polished, and did clear bra on the front end already. The goal was to not have any paint chips from the two hour ride back. A little counterintuitive but I didn’t want rock chips.

14:07. That's exactly my situation. I have an M2C on order, but am here living vicariously through others. I must say, at this point I hope it's ONLY a 3 month wait. I did all the paperwork 6 weeks ago, and was told everything was "all set" by the dealership. As of today, they haven't even taken the money for the deposit from my account yet. I haven't heard anything since then actually, and it's my understanding that once BMW actually starts building the car, I should get notified every step of the way. So I don't think they have even started building it yet. Congrats on the car though. I went with black, but the Hockenheim is nice too. And Im' glad you went with the clutch. It depresses me to see automatic M2s.

@@JeffAshton Ya I agree. I think the S55 gets a bad rap in regard to the exhaust because of the European spec. The non-Euros sound good imho. What's your opinion on the Harman Kardon sound system? I have an M2C on order, but a comment made in a video by Savage Geese has me worried about the sound system quality. I'd be very interested in hearing the opinion of an actual owner. Does the stereo sound pretty good to you?

Compared to a standard GT, the Ford is a clumsy wrecking ball. The M2C is a precision sledgehammer. Not sure, but would be surprised if the GT350 were any better. Only Ford plus is the V8 noise.

nes suno Okay, the Mustang I have with Performance Package Level 2 is not even in the same ballpark as a standard GT. It actually outperforms the base GT350 on track. It has 305 Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires all the way around. It’s a serious track machine that destroys the regular M2 in lap times. I’m looking more for feel than anything but sheer performance cannot be overlooked.
