thanks for the videos, we are going to stay in Ceglie later this month just before the end of year any suggestions as to dinning options. Also what is the train system like there as my wife doesnt drive. thanks again Frank

Thank you! First, trains. Ceglie has a train station but not a lot of direct routes to the local cities. I recommend, and its very easy, to take the 2 euro bus to Ostuni and from there you get get direct trains to Polignano a Mare (24minute train ride 11 euro), Lecce (55 minutes 11 euros), Bari, and even Rome if you wanted to go North, OMIO.COM is a good resource for bus and train schedules. Restaurants, if you are staying in the city, are plentiful. Here are a few suggestions you can look up. Vino Friti e Cucina, Osteria Pugliese, Mami Cucina a Tipica, L'Antico Arco Osteria, Cibus, and Calce. They are in the Old town. Also if you are there on a Saturday you can't miss the farmers market even if you aren't cooking. Sophie Grigson a Food Network Chef has Farmers market tours, if you wanted a local guide. You can check her out @www.trullidelicious.com. I hope that helps! Enjoy!

My partner and I are looking to retire in Italy in 2025. Where in Italy is it 'gay tolerant'? We have googled a bit and found that Milan is very gay friendly, but we want to afford the 7% flat tax, so we are looking in the south. In your vid you mentioned that Puglia is friendly and you feel comfortable there. How did you figure that out? We are married and living in Florida, I know that we can't be as OUT as we are here in Fort Lauderdale, but I don't want to be in a small town where everyone points at us and say "Those are the village gays!" What about Palermo? Besides house hunting for the right space, how high on your list was LGBTQ+ friendly as a requirement?

Thanks for watching! Being gay in Puglia, for us, has been a non-issue. They're everywhere. From Mayors and Police Chiefs to your local shop owners and baristas. We chose the Itria Valley because It's a year round area. Our city is Ceglie Messapica which falls into the 7% tax. It is considered the gastronomy hub for Puglia. And even has a men only "spa". Personally I relied on www.gaypugliapodcast.com for a lot of advice on which cities I wanted to visit before making a final decision. (Visiting all of them actually). Although southern Puglia (Gallipoli,Nardo) is only a little more than an hour from us, and it was initially my first choice, it's very seasonal. You can PM me and I'd be happy to offer any info I have. Oh and LGBTQ+ was at the top of my list. Ciao

@NakedPuglia

Yes! Lots of northern Italians buy as summer homes. And in my area it's also year round living with primarily Italians and expats.
