All 18v and 20v (Milwaukee and DeWalt for example) tools are the exact same voltage, it's just the marketing. They both have 5 18650 batteries in series. The difference in a good battery pack is the peak amps it can draw, and the capacity (how long it will last). Of course there's other factors but those are the basics.
@gabest48 ай бұрын
It's usually the nominal 3.7v that is used. Fully charged 4.2v, that's why he measures more. To calculate capacity, you do 3.7v * X mAh, it's the closest to reality.
@deadly_dave8 ай бұрын
@@gabest4 This is correct, however, neither of those values are the reason the tool is stalling. The voltage will in part determine the speed of rotation but the stalling is happening due to a loss of current, which is usually denoted by the C rating of the battery. The C value will tell you the amount of current the battery can dump into the tool at any one instance in time or as the OP said peak amp draw. Even a good tool with a sucky battery will be sucky.

Hi Tyler I had a question for you. What's the best thing to use to sharpen knives and swords without taking too much metal and shortening the life of the blade? I saw a video saying they used the work sharp with blade grinder attachment but then read grinders take off too much metal but I didn't know if using high grit belts with light pressure would get the job done without doing that. So in your opinion what's the best way to sharpen a knife with shortening life duration?

20v and 18v batteries are the same it just depends on what standard the manufacturer uses. For example you can use dewalt 18v eu batteries on 20v us dewalt tools . And Makitas 40v battery would be the same as two 18v makita batteries. But yeah 19.4 v is a bit low for a fully charged and new battery.
