Might be a good, worthwhile investment to buy yourself a good reference tool for checking flatness of heads etc. If that engine has overheated, it would be worth checking the head and then wet sanding it out on a perfectly flat surface if necessary.

The trick to buying Chinese stuff, is finding a good copy designed by someone else. Like a friend (an engineer) found a company making copies of German tractors in China. In fact, they apparently were next door to the orginal German tractor factory in China (probably the same chinese company). They had just added some crappy lights to the dash. He ripped those out, and had a German designed tractor that costs 1/3 the orginal.

I don't think it's that simple, the cost is being cut somewhere, probably in the quality of the steel and wiring and all the rest. It's not JUST the engineering that goes into it, there's real value in using good metal

@@AnthonyRBlackerthe overhead in Western companies are insane... The Chinese don't have to pay some it eight figure executives a multi million dollar stock bonus each year. They can strip out a lot of the unneeded junk from the design as well. I'm not saying that the Chinese produce something which has the same amount of quality control or is good as a western produced item that's made in China with oversight... But at the end of the day the Western companies are piling on to the cost of the item! Sometimes the Western companies don't even provide any value they just take the profit. I just ordered a filter spark plugs and fuel filter for a Toro mower for 9 bucks. The Toro dealer wanted $100. They work just as good

Put in an electric waterpump. I did that to my scooter after the waterpump seals worn out three times. And to change it i had to split the engine every time. When it started to leak the last time i sealed the impeller with some RTV silicone and removed the chain that drives the pump. Then i put in an electric motor instead in the waterhose. Works like a charm!! No problem so far. It was about a year ago, and i drive that scooter almost every day to work.

I can see what you did working quite well. In the GY6 modding community the largest big bore kit you can buy is a liquid cooled model that changes your top-end from a 2-valve to a 4-valve head. Because GY6 engines are air-cooled they don't have water pumps so for the liquid cooled jug to work they offer a electric water pump for it. I'd love to do something like that to my scoot but it's quite expensive. :)

Ive seen other versions of these cheap side by sides at tractor supply, a cheaper version with a single cylinder engine.... One thing I found interesting is how the engine on the one I looked over, looked as if it was retrofitted with liquid cooling after the fact. Like, it looks like they took an engine thats normally air cooled and just installed a different cylinder and head on to it. This is probably exactly what they did to save costs. Instead of designing something new, they took a design they already had and just slapped some improvements to it so it could be used in a side by side lol.

Kawasaki mules were terrible for dealer assembled issues, overheating and blowing head gasket usually on the 1st or 2nd time they were driven. It was usually a air pocket in the cooling system, dealership employees being untrained mechanics, usually the salesman who have zero mechanical experience putting the peripheral components on before selling to unsuspecting buyers. The warranty division had to repair or replace a lot of engine before they revised the cooling system assembly process. This is probably a copy of the original, with a buyer doing the final assembly.

That Mess-imo looks like the mileage is actually only 77.7 miles on it not seven hundred and seventy seven. There appeared to be a gap between the last two sevens,i may be mistaken though. “Assembled”,”Designed”,”Engineered” in the USA is how many foreign manufacturers try to mislead consumers looking for American made products. The “made in the USA” label is highly regarded as you know.Don’t get thrown off by made in “America” either.Made in the USA 🇺🇸 means a certain percentage of American made components have to be manufactured in the USA to meet the standards for the Made in USA label.Looking forward to seeing your next video.

I had a Cadillac Northstar that did something similar. The geniuses at GM put iron Head bolts into an aluminum head. I guess they never heard of Cathodic Corrosion. Anyway the bolt would lose torque as the head corroded. The engine would idle just fine but under a load it would put exhaust gasses into the cooling system causing it to overheat. It would build that pressure. It didn't really burn the coolant. The exhaust gasses would just purge the cooling system.
