Hi! I was at AGL Pennrose Park, to answer your question about the 1st place winner having less rounds, that was because of the way the tournament was set up. The way it worked was that after swiss, first and second place would skip the semi-finals and move straight to the finals. Then the rest of top cut (which was only top 10 due to player count), would play and whoever won those pods would get third and fourth seats. Also the Trazyn and Lotho decks that were in the top 16 were actually two of my teammates. I'll let them know about this video.

17:17 So the way Ms. Bumbleflower wins is by using the infinite casting of Food Chain/Scourge to force your opponents to draw their entire decks one at a time while you've resolved a Grand Abolisher/Silence. Her ability triggers on every spellcast. You draw the two cards on the second trigger, but it still triggers every time you cast a spell.

Hey! Im the sisay player from the GGAZ event, i was super iffy on goro-goro and ended up adding it back in the night before and it ended up winning me my top 16 game with natural cast ioreth and orrery. Absolutely wild game to win off a mull to 4.

Sans-White Stranger Things pilot here. I picked these commanders for a few reasons. Personally, I wanted to build the best possible double necro deck I could (that isn't rog si) and I thought green added a bunch to the strat. The reason for the commanders over others, I think the 3cmc Elmar is better than Reyhan and Kraum is very tough to cast, so I think this commander pair improves upon that Archetype in a post j lo world (and clues arnt a strick downside anymore). Cecily has some main phase naus + necro synergy with the attack trigger and 11 card max hand size for necro. Now, picking this over thras/vial is another thing. I didn't want to lean into the worse card quality that comes with naked kinnan with no dockside (still not bad) and devoted druid (Also still not bad), BUT MGE and Basalt are pretty poor card quality overall, so that's why I decided to choose these. You also can't discredit the lowered threat assessment you tend to receive without known commanders, which never hurts in Swiss. Thanks for covering and thank you for making awesome content!

Malcolm Tymna player from Penrose here, yeah for sure felt slower as felt really good right before the ban, just never had enough time when the ban came out to change decks within the same week, but loving the new meta and interested how it forms into! I truly believe my Malcom Tana will be one of the best decks post ban. It can’t be the case that “big 7 mana commanders got hit the hardest” and “also cheap 3 mana commanders got hit super hard” those two ideas are nearly mutually exclusive. The trick is to do as I have done (while top 16’ng all 3 events I played w it including a split of top pod and a #5 out of 176 players at a $10k) you don’t wanna play it as a bad Rog Si deck. I jam curiosity effects and Kediss and Lightning Rig crew, and Niv Nizzet, and I play Kinnan and just all kinds of crazy synergies (not all good cards but all broken synergies) I can get the turn 3 wins of course but I’m not really shooting for that. My deck draws cards and makes mana. It’s loaded w interaction and it doesn’t look for a window as much as it looks to pry one open. It feels completely unaffected by the bans. No more “free wins on turn 2” or very few. But that was always a 1 in 10 games anyway and they don’t always get thru 🤷‍♂️ dorks and treasures👍. And lots of anti Bowmaster tech👍

Trazyn the infinite is very fun, I love how, with the commander out, resolving a Buried alive wins you the game, because you grab: walking ballista, Paladium myr and Pili-Pala and you go infinite on the spot, get infinite counters on your commander and then pew pew.

I was in the round 1 pod with that Sorin deck. The crazy thing was we had 3 Grand Abolishers on board so no one could do anything during each other's turn less the player between my turn and Sorin 😆

@@TheSpiritombsableye I picked up the shell from one of my good friends who decided to build Sorin. He built it more on the concept of being able to necro or adnaus your life really low and sac children of Korlis to gain it all back and shoot someone for their life total with Sorin. And he built it to serve as more orzhov control with life gain. I was bouncing around decks at the time trying to figure out what to play as I wasn’t feeling talion anymore. I played the deck and just had a lot of fun with it. It was unique and dynamic and the bannings helped position Sorin to do well in a tournament setting. I just kept going with Sorin and I plan on to continue with it.

Tier systems just make it so people who should be playing casual can play tourneys. It's pretty weak. Letting in low powered decks is not what competitive is. You might as well let fat people into the Olympics too
