Hey Mr Alex, another fun video. Thanks for the fresh look at quilting, that worked nicely. I normally just quilt up a chunk and cut the pieces from it. It is nice seeing how you sew the heavy stuff together. Really nice grommet press. Thanks for the ride .. Lee .. a patreon supporter

Thank you sir! I really appreciate your support. I got that press from a factory that was down sizing and the good folks at Siska provided the dies for my grommets. I'll have a video about the press soon. Thanks again.

Excellent!!! Alexander you make everything seem so (seam sew) easy! I wonder if you could suggest for me where or what model of zipper foot for my Morse semi individual machine No. 16080135, would work with my machine? I know you're an expert in this field. It is a machine similar to a Rex 607 or a Consew cp206r or a Reliable 2000u33/2002w. My research has not been fruitful. Thanks for this great video!

Wow. Amazing product, professional video as usual. I noticed all the machines you used in the construction of the backpack. Would you consider making a video that tours your workshop and talks a little about how what the machines are and how you obtained them? That would be very useful for me because I am building my equipment list. When I retired I intend to make bags, holsters, backpacks, wallets etc. I am buying now but I didn't recognize a lot of the machine you used. It would help a few of us I think. Thanks.
@AlexanderDyer6 жыл бұрын
That is an interesting idea and one I will have to think about and I appreciate the positive input. I have been buying and selling these machines for about 5 years mostly locally off of Craigslist and Facebook Market etc. and I keep some for myself. The process has taught me so much about what everything is, there is just just nothing like getting a new machine in your shop and getting your hands on it for a few weeks to learn the behavior of these different configurations of machines. Pretty much every machine I have ever sold has a video on my channel so check them out in the mean time to see some of the different features of the many machines.

Hi Alexander, I just bought a Rex, Chandler...machine. Mine has Hilton name branded on it. It is missing the reverse lever and some small parts. I've been trying online with different vendors, salvage, but no luck. If you have any suggestions can I contact you other than here? Thanks, Eric
@AlexanderDyer6 жыл бұрын
Good news, Bad news. Bad news: These are not made anymore and parts are difficult to find retail. Good news: There must have been millions of these produced because I see them all the time and they can be picked up for reasonable prices. If your parts supplier can't help you out try to find another second hand and buy on for parts. I have bought these for a low as $100. Good Luck

Hi Alexander, your videos keep looking more and more professional with all the sound and recording effects that you are now incorporating. Wonderful music. Love the fast and slow speed sections during playback. Your design eye is right on target. Even if you might not like to write patterns, if you could possibly find someone to write them for you, I’m sure a pattern for this backpack and your bags and totes would sell like mad, because your aesthetic sensibilities are super-contemporary and look great. I don’t know many people who wouldn’t want to make and/or own a backpack like this one, whether it be slightly smaller, larger, or exactly this size. Your high contrasting black quilting thread on white canvas, red lining material (is that canvas, too?), rivets, and all details make this project really pop in a sea of drab, ordinary-looking backpacks and totes. Your finished backpack looks so much better than any backpack you could purchase at a sporting goods store, such as Northface, LL Bean, etc... Your sewing ability is high enough above mine, that I always learn new techniques. That machine that made and applied the black biais binding to unfinished edges is a sweet machine I wish I had. You encourage me with your skills, abilities, and edge-cutting designs to strive to produce higher quality artisanal-level sewing projects. What I wouldn’t pay to be a fly on the wall to watch you work for a week in your workshop studio. I know I’d learn so much. I wish I had the power and influence to increase your exposure in the design world to turn you into more than the super star that you are already. Thank you for all your fabulous work.
