Heard you mention Singapore in your video which is where I’m from. Electric Scooters are now illegal in Singapore. Due to young kids / adults riding the really big escooters like dualtrons etc on sidewalks and hitting / crashing into pedestrians. Resulted in multiple injuries and even deaths. Another issue was extreme modifications to the battery, motor, controller which resulted in major fires in homes. The Singapore Government initally tried to enforce restrictions on escooters, for example speed and weight limitations. That didn’t work and they subsequently banned all escooters. The new thing for now is Electric Bicycles, or Pedal Assisted Bicycles but with heavy restrictions. for example: weight limit of 20kg, no throttle, maximum speed of 25km/h and only allowed on roads. no pavements. Honestly it’s a shame that the younger generation “abused” or misused electric scooters. These electric vehicles are hella fun to ride, affordable, and for some it was their work vehicle. Alot of food delivery riders used these vehicles to earn their income. For now, these riders have either switched to bicycles, electric bicycles, motorcycles etc. Just no electric scooters… You may see one or two electric scooters out and about but its definitely rare. The Land Transport Authority of Singapore employ and deploy enforcement officers around the country to catch, fine and or confiscate illegal electric scooters and electric bicycles. I used to own an electric scooter, never road the scooter dangerously but loved it. Invested about SGD$4,000 into it, only to have the government ban all escooters. Damn, watching your video made me miss those times…
@JB360_NYC Жыл бұрын
Oh man I didn't realize SG banned scooters all together considering Falcon PEV operated from SG. I feel as though here in the states we'll start to see that shift with Surrons as they're now considering them electric motorcycles. Some states have even started requiring registration to operate them.
