I’ve been waiting to see something like this done since forever, would love to see more people go crazy with dioramas and creative builds that still don’t lose the beauty of aquascaping 😍

I meant also terra-scaping, for that matter lol. But show me an underwater scifi space station that lights up, I’d die happy :D

@@artandgrow9240 I sense that this was a subtle hint 😅Maybe I can incorporate some stuff from my "Glass Iwagumi" video that was a similar style.

They are super cool! As soon as I spotted them I had to see how the crabs woudl use them! The hardest part was picking a layout for them there was so many good configurations! Cheers for taking the time to drop a comment ☺

This was so cool, the beginning was like a movie! With the shape of the modules, this build reminds me a little bit of the bio dome area in a sci-fi called Silent Running, good movie even though it's super old. Really awesome, I'm looking forward to part 2! 🙂👍

Do you need a filter for a small tank with these guys?
@IndoorEcosystem8 ай бұрын
A filter is handy if you're new but you can go without if you set it up correctly and keep up with your weekly water changes.
@persephone83387 ай бұрын
Hi! How do you keep humidity in the tank? Also, what kind of moss do you recommend? I have to buy moss because of where I live. Also, what gravel do you recommend for the water side? Sorry for all the questions lol
@IndoorEcosystem7 ай бұрын
No problem :) hypnum moss seems to be the easiest to grow healthy from my experience. Any small grained gravel works best just avoid bigger grained stuff that more like pebbles. It's not the end of the world but they seem to prefer small stuff. Humidity is kept high with a lid, heat mat and light. You need a lid that covers the entire top with some ventilation holes. Without a lid they'll escape pretty fast.

Thanks man! This was a pretty fun edit and the hardscape with the modules came up super good! Now the hardest part of all is waiting for nature to do its thing and prepare the terrain for the next phase of life!
@blackosprey22194 ай бұрын
I love this!! How do you prevent mold on your land sections? My palus are always getting moldy despite adding isopods and springtails
@IndoorEcosystem4 ай бұрын
Mould cycles are pretty hard to avoid entirely, sometimes I have tiny flareups but they only last a few days before the springtails smash them. You can also let some more airflow in when it starts to get mouldy as well that will usually slow it down or kill it off but ultimately it's just about time the longer a tank runs the less mould issues you'll have.

What is the ideal tank size for these little guys? I bought 10 gallon but it seems small. I’m thinking of getting a 36. Is that overkill? Or does that sound good? Thank yu
@IndoorEcosystem6 ай бұрын
10 - 15 gallon is my favourite size to work in and a really good size if you're new. I'd start with 3 crabs as well the perfect number. I have a tank size guide on my channel you might find interesting.

Hello, an Aquatic heater or a heat mat? What do you prefer? But usually both can. Just differently
@craby64498 ай бұрын
when i 1st saw this video i was concern about the moduelm is the surface of the moduel is rough enough for the crabs to climb on to? but on the 2nd thought, it doesn't matters, because it won't replace there burrows, so it won''t hurt the crabs so now i'm just wondering which kind of vempier crab is going in to this tank, i saw many new species vempire crab that have been newly introduced to hobby so can't wait to see
@IndoorEcosystem8 ай бұрын
The surface is quite smooth. I would say similar to a well worn stone in a river bed. They are very efficient climbers will have no problems moving in and around this things. They will use them like they used the little crab cribs I suspect mostly for cover when moving around the tank. Places to shelter while they explore and eat and hunt. To get them to hide in them as homes I would have to put a layer or soil in the base. Then they would be more likely to use them as proper homes. But I'm really curious how the interact.
@craby64498 ай бұрын
@@IndoorEcosystem well they will ues it as there home if it fits there needs, If it's dark and cozy the will like it. It seems like they like small space more then big space. They like small space which can fit there body whith littel geps. so i think they will ues them as a tunnel so they can move in the dark, and not as home. I think for there home, they will just dig some durrows XD
@IndoorEcosystem8 ай бұрын
@@craby6449 Yep exactly! I will experiment with filling some with soil at some stage. Just lightly pushed in and not compact. I think they will dig them out to make homes.
