if you have a buddy with the tools, go for it. start practicing on pine since its cheap and soft and easy to work. its ok if you make mistakes, its pretty hard building a guitar. i built a body from scratch in gr12 woods class with no prior knowledge, haven't even done a kit before, and it turned out pretty good. do your research, find some tools, and give it a go, you never know how it'll turn out until you try. if it doesn't turn out, give it another go, figure out what went wrong and make adjustments for the next time around

I simply love the look of this guitar, I'm a sucker for earth tones. Plus the copper this guitar is simply gorgeous. I've been watching your builds for a while now and this has to be my favorite. Your friend is lucky to have it in his shop. Great job!!!

Fantastic! Well done on that. And an extra well done for not trying to hide the flaws! We need more honesty like that in the world. Beautiful guitar.

As cool as that guitar looks and (I'm sure) smells. It actually sounds fantastic too. The copper is oxidizing. Copper turns green when it oxidizes and that is called verdigris (Ver - dih - gree). It might actually look cool once that happens.
