It has to be so gratifying being able to make instruments of this quality. I wish I had the patience and time to learn how to do this sort of thing. It's absolutely amazing.
@minkorrh

Patience, time, money for tools, machinery, and space. And then the woodworking learning curve. It would take a novice 10K and a good year to produce something of quality without experience. I'm fortunate enough to work somewhere that paints and clearcoats things daily, so my builds are limited to kits and neck/bodies but I can get the finishing done for nothing.

Just to clear things up on the copper headstock... I'm aware copper oxidizes and forms a patina. Rust is specific to metals that contain iron in them like steel, not copper. I'm excited to see what the 'patina' will look like down the road.

Until those beans go rancid. Coffee beans contain a very volatile fatty acid in the oil and it goes bad, starts smelling sour after a while. This is why people use fresh beans.

@robotsongs
@robotsongs 4 жыл бұрын
@@SmileyD1125 yes. Once beans are roasted and exposed to oxygen, a ticking time bomb starts. Plus, when he's discussing the build at the end, remember that he mentioned that a lot of beans are exposed and that he didn't do a top pour to encapsulate everything.

if you have a buddy with the tools, go for it. start practicing on pine since its cheap and soft and easy to work. its ok if you make mistakes, its pretty hard building a guitar. i built a body from scratch in gr12 woods class with no prior knowledge, haven't even done a kit before, and it turned out pretty good. do your research, find some tools, and give it a go, you never know how it'll turn out until you try. if it doesn't turn out, give it another go, figure out what went wrong and make adjustments for the next time around

It does not come out in the sound. Electric guitars are electronic instruments. All the sound comes from the electronics, the strings, and the things the strings touch. That does not mean building guitars isn't worthwhile. It absolutely is. Just don't do it for something that sounds good. Get that from the electronics.
